Hey guys,.,..I am curious about the most liked foreign languages right now. I speak several languages and I am focusing on Russian, right now...but in a quite globalized world like ours, knowing other cultures and languages can become pretty interesting to improve international relations and to try to understand each other better.

I speak English as a first language. I have a decent knowledge of French and a very basic grasp of German. I would like to learn Russian at some point although I'll focus on improving my German and French for the time being. For the sake of the poll, I'll answer Russian as I'm already engaged with French and German.

I picked arabic and other (hindi). I learned French in high school and German in college, both long forgotten outside of a few phrases and words. I guess I made the choices I did for the challenge of having a different alphabet to learn.

Realistically, German. It would be nice to learn Japanese, Arabic and Russian as well, in that order.

Bonus points for Swedish and other Scandinavian languages.

I already have a fairly good ability at reading and understanding spoken Spanish and, of course, Portuguese and English.

French, German, Spanish, and Italian. I'd think about other languages after those.

I'm glad Arabic is my native language, because it's significantly difficult. That gives me more room to learn other languages instead. :D

Hem.... there's no difference between old and modern Italian. I mean...we still speak the language Dante used in his Divine Comedy. And before that, there was only Latin....

Lakota is my first pick, I started learning when I was younger and fell out of it when I got into high school. Second choice would probably be Spanish for the usability.

I chose Spanish, which would probably be the most useful language to know where I live. Not sure when I'll get around to it though. :D

Spanish, because of practicality in the US. Russian, because I learned a little bit before and sometimes I think it'd be cool to pick up again. And then for Other, I have in mind primarily Hungarian (primarily due to a bit of ancestry) and Norwegian, but I wouldn't mind learning, like, ALL of the Germanic languages that enjoy widespread use.

I'm born and raised in the US....therefore I prit much only speak English (the right way, and not with all thoese eaxtra silente lettears throuwn in). Out of US character, I also know ein bisschen deutch.

I would choose Chinese.....for the future business and travel aspects of it. I will be encouraging my kids to learn it when they are old enough.
Spanish of course is also very widespread/useful.

Not to be a pitcher, but for anyone here looking to learn a language "But how?", Duolingo is actually a really good program, and it is free. They've got a ton of languages - even Klingon - and their mobile app works on all phone OS's. I do recommend using the website more often, though, as they offer tips and explanations for grammar, sentence structure, conjugations, etc.
