If you serve Kellogg’s products to your family, you are serving up bigotry

Breakfast Brand Blacklists Breitbart <-- link

The automatic labelling of anything you don't like as bigotry has gotten out of hand. Kelloggs has every right to make their own decisions regarding where and how they choose to advertise. That is not censorship. This is exercising their right to free speech. There is no logical cogent argument that Kelloggs is bigotted because they have decided not to advertise on Breitbart.

So my question is this. What is your favourite breakfast cereal?

Not Kellogg's, and those blasted anti-masturbation Cornflakes (though good for them on taking a stand on advertising).

Reading what brands are owned by Kellogg's, I might have an excuse to go buy me a box of Cheez-its, and some Poptarts just 'cuz.

For a group of people who rail against 'special snowflakes', there aren't half a lot of oversensitive, special snowflakes in right wing US media circles.

"Unless you voluntarily choose to pay us money then you are a bigot and we'll get upset"

I much prefer bread for breakfast anyway, although I used to quite like Rice Krispies. Perhaps I could pass that off as a boycott in the same way lots of Trump/Pence fans vowed to boycott the perpetually sold out Hamilton the musical :D

Mainly what you get from eating cereal is flour, two slices of toast can replace Kelloggs. And you can't put butter and jelly on a corn flake.

It's kind of ironic that a brand once owned by a man who advocated circumcisions without anesthesia and carbolic acid to the clitoris in order to destroy sexual organs and inflict so much pain that no child would masturbate again is now pulling away from advertising on a conservative website. Thought the super conservatives were into all that sex-is-sin stuff. Oh well, maybe the corn flakes aren't bland enough anymore?

Until the acrylamides and packaging "leaks" are taken care of, I won't be eating any cereals sold by bigots or otherwise.

Nothing Brietbart does, no matter how outrageous, surprises me. But they could easily surprise me by doing something that was NOT disgusting for once.

Any company making political statements, and that this is, can't but expect response.

When advertisers pulled out of media companies over things they were saying during gamergate social leftists went after them including articles calling the companies cowardly and surrendering to bigots. It is what happens.

I am too much a capitalist to be overconcerned. If a product is good at a good price, you have be egregious for me to boycott.

Kellogg's like 99% of cereals are nothing more than poison.
Mrs Revolt's favorite poison is Kashi.
I have no favorite cereal, but I like Raisin Bran mixed in with various granolas.
I don't care about Kellogg's advertising policy.
They & other companies may do as they please.

Who owns Brietbart The do not show anything on their news site. Not that I was aware that they existed before this.....
Kellogg have as much right to pull away from Brietbart, as any one else. It it just the loss of advertising revenue that hurts.

I have just checked, and there are no products that Kellogg market in the UK, that I buy.
However neither to I read anything Brietbart produces.

But at least Kellogg's try to be ethical.

I concur with some of the other posts, if you consider what they sell food then maybe it would matter. They're selling diabetes, cancer, thyroid problems, and coronary disease. You should be eating absolutely zero of their products already. :D There is great irony in that fact, because Kellogg was originally founded by a man who promoted health.

It is Kellogg that threw the gauntlet on the table and refused to advertise thereby politicizing their brand. They're the idiots in this situation, not Breitbart. It's especially funny because these sore losers were perfectly fine buying ads before, and knew the demographics in the first place. Would it be acceptable if Kellogg pulled its advertising because Steve Bannon is white? Why is bigotry O.K. when it is over politics, but not race? These people are hypocrites -- they deserve every ounce of misery they receive for that decision, and a good 40% of the country identify as conservatives. Good luck with your annual reports next year. :D

I don't eat anything that comes in a box, so zero breakfast cereals. :D I eat a low-carb paleo diet (before it was a thing, or trendy).

This is so Brietbart. Kellogs leaves because of Brietbart's bigotry and so Brietbart accuses them of being bigots. I don't generally buy cereal, but I'm gonna have to in this case.

Cereal is incredibly lacking in nutrition, especially in comparison to the things I normally consume for breakfast. I usually workout an hour or so after breakfast, and cereal just doesn't provide the fuel necessary to go in and push myself as hard as I'd like to.

You're missing the point or maybe you just don't want to admit it.

Kellogg may give you heart disease but Brietbart steals your soul. Kellogg may poison your body, but Brietbart poisons your mind and soul.
