Iliad/Odyssey Contradictions

Contradictions?

What are you specifically looking for here? Contradictions between the Iliad and the Odyssey? Contradictions within each text?

Personally I find the contradiction between the Greek version of the Trojan War and the possible reality of a Celtic war over mining rights in ancient Britain to be especially telling. If the origin of the Trojan War is to be found in England then what does that tell us about Mankind's tendency to rewrite history to fit the needs of the here and now? The Iliad and the Odyssey was a both history and entertainment. It tells of a people and their Gods. If the reality of that story is a bunch of Celts fighting over tin mines then what other historical books about people and there Gods might also have an origin far removed from current accepted doctrine?
