Hi everybody.
I came here looking to form my philosophy and test it with peers to reach a verdict. I am a bit opinionated although I am prone to persuasion if I (am detached enough to) find an argument logical.
For my introduction I'll explain my beliefs: I'm a non interference agnostic in philosophy, although I am practically an athiest.
My agnosticism comes from believing that there might be a creator, however if there is, he is definitely not actively interfering with the human world. I do not define anything that has a scientific explanation as divine intervention. And since a creator is not actively interfering with the universe, perhaps we were created for the purpose of observation or even entertainment. The purpose for which we were created is not mutually inclusive of the purpose of our lives.
There is no good and evil, only acts beneficial or counterproductive towards mutual satisfaction among human beings - the meaning of a person's life is achieving personal satisfaction, a successful society enables all its members to be in a completely satisfied state, whatever it may be.
People are suffering and unhappy and dissatisfied, the world and society is imperfect.
There is no punishment and reward, only natural consequences.
However, a natural consequence of an unhappy world is improvement, and society is improving with the interchange of ideas and concept already thriving, destroying the ignorance people have held between groups, races and religion.
Science improves daily as well, constantly opening up new options for common problems that people may have accepted as fate. As the cameras or whatever equivalent future surveillance technology improves, people's personal lives will be more exposed and society will have to change to accommodate this new openness, as well as react towards the newfound information appropriately.
The internet taught us that society isn't degenerating, its just becoming more honest, and instead of suppressing such explicitness we could learn more about ourselves from it.
erm. I mean, hello.
