Well lots of good things have happened..I am now fully active in the Church and it will be staying that way. Had some amazing testimony building experiences over the last few weeks and I am sure as heck not turning back now! :D

A couple of my friends who are also members and I are planning a trip to Utah in August/September 2011..yay I am excited. They have a wedding to attend in Idaho of one of the missionaries who is still serving at the moment. So we are using the opportunity to visit lots of people :) Weve had lots of requests from previous missionaries and we know a few members who are over there so its going to be a great time!!!

So...any of you lovely people who live in Utah fancy meeting up?? Would be great to put a couple of faces to some of you, especially those who helped me find the Church in the first place!!

Also any places that are a must to see..obviously SLC will be a main stop :D

I cant wait, never been so excited!!

OH, MY GOODNESS!!!!! I am so excited! I never thought I'd get to meet you, and now maybe I will! Seriously, I will be looking forward to this all year, and would absolutely love to give you some suggestions as to some of the things you won't want to miss.

Now, just change your title from "Lost LDS" to something more positive!

I would love to hear about these experiences if you would like to share them.

If you will let me be your personal tour guide (for you and your friends), I would be honored.

That is exciting, DA. How long will you be over here? Do you have any touristy things in mind?

and do you think you'll survive the August heat? ;)

I would love to share them with you. I hope you dont mind but I am going to cheat slightly and copy and paste most of the experience from an email I sent a friend. Its a lot of typing to do otherwise and I wrote the email shortly after the experiences.

"In the three years since I have been baptized into the church, although I have rarely been fully active in that time, I suppose you could say I have always felt that there has been something (I now know this to be the Holy Spirit) guiding me and steering me on the right path. I have always had little reminders of the Church right when I needed them (usually after praying about it) so as not to forget the true path that is right for me and that Heavenly Father wishes me to follow. Whether it be seeing the missionaries while out and about, seeing members, dreams - in fact the best was when I was in Germany and usually I never hear about or see members of the Church over there. I stepped off the plane and the first thing we do is go to a restaurant which my friend says "Oh this is owned by a Mormon" and then proceeded to ask me lots of questions about the Church. She has never done that in all the three years I have been a member. These are just little signs that I feel the Holy Spirit is sending me, but the greatest experiences I have had have been over the last couple of weeks.

I was starting to get quite low a few weeks back, didn’t really know what to do, where to go - I felt lost basically! Its probably the first time I have held my hands up to Heavenly Father and said "Help me" and really meant it, asking him to show me the way. The day after, I was at the gym doing one of my weights routine which happens to be in front of a very large mirror (its so you can get your positions perfect apparently) and I was looking towards the floor when I felt a hand on my shoulder, it wasn’t just a light touch, it was a very strong feeling of someone placing their hand on my shoulder - I looked up thinking it was one of the instructors and no one was there..in fact I was in there on my own. It was a "everything will be OK" type of touch! I was a little scared at the time, until I remember my prayers and realised then that it was just Heavenly Father's answer.

This experience really strengthened my testimony and since then, I have been able to feel the Holy Spirits present more and more. Feels like someone watching over me or at other times, someone comforting me and almost wrapping a blanket over me.

I also had a dream; basically in the dream I was in a room which was completely white and I was sat up against a wall chatting to a youngish man who was sat next to me. At the time (in the dream and upon waking up), I didn’t know who the other person was other than what he looked like. He had short blondish hair and was wearing one of those loose old fashioned white shirts with braces - at the time it actually made me think about My Darcy played by Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice except with blonde hair. We were chatting about working on Sundays, presumably because I had been thinking/praying about this and had mentioned it to Claire the day previously. The young man said that I should try to not work on Sundays as I would be able to feel the Holy Spirit a lot more and would in turn be helped out much more spiritually. Anyway I awoke from the dream not thinking too much about it, other than maybe I should try and not work on Sundays (which I now am doing!). The next day I was looking through mormon.org as it has been revamped and looks very impressive and I enjoy reading through the profiles of members about why they are a Mormon and what the gospel brings to their lives etc. The first picture I saw was that of Joseph Smith (one which I have never seen of him before) in none other than a white shirt and braces which looked EXACTLY like what the young man in my dream was wearing. The only conclusion I can come to is that it WAS Joseph Smith talking to me.

Both these experiences were so powerful and made me think about the spiritual experience I had when I was 14 before I even knew about the Church and I suppose was the catalyst if you like for my spiritual journey. (I think I may have mentioned this on here before).

It was in the middle of the night and I was asleep. Now my house is in a little village tucked away and there is no outside lights, so when it is dark..it is very dark! I woke up at about 2am when my room would have been pitch black..but it wasnt...it was light..I could see absolutely everything, I at first wondered where the light was coming from and followed it to the end of my bed where there was a figure standing which was made of bright white light! To this day, I couldnt tell you who or what it was but I remember feeling like it was a female presence and angelic. I have had people say it must have been a helicopters lights, but a) I would have heard it and b) I have seen helicopter lights and they put on a disco light display in my room, not a formed, defined tall figure stood at the end of my bed. At the time I was a little scared and hid back under the covers, after a few seconds I peeped back out and it was gone..my room was pitch black and I couldnt see a thing. It was after this night that I realised there was something more than just this earth and birth and finite death!

So as I say no turning back now...:D Since I have started listening to the Spirit more, I have recieved so many blessings. I had injured my leg and it had been playing up for around 4weeks. I had seen the Osteopath once, but it was still playing up. A couple of Sundays ago I asked our missionaries to give me a blessing...pain went straight away and I havent had any more problems since! Went to the Osteopath and she couldnt believe it! :)

We are hoping to come for about 4 weeks, so plenty of time to explore etc. I think I will be OK in the heat, I have been to Vegas at that time of year before now and just about (seriously just about :D) survived. My friend has never been outside of the UK, so it will be an experience for her, but its more reason to try and pack lots of fun and exciting things in. I would have loved to have driven down to the Grand Canyon or explored the Arches, but I am not sure if my friend would like to do that! We shall probably focus our time in SLC and where ever members/former missionaries etc live. We are all hoping to meet up with the missionaries that baptized us. They all live in Utah! hehe :D.

Thank you so much Dream Angel for sharing your experiences. I've been lost myself these past few months. And didn't even realize it. ;) Only been to church a few times as I've had to work. Covering for people who were sick or on leave, and I didn't want to say no. I'm the ward chorister so I feel guilty when I don't go to fulfil my calling. When I did go to church a few weeks ago, one of the sisters said to me that it was nice to have a chorister that smiles. I hope to go to church next sunday as this coming sunday I have to work. I should switch off my phone saturday night so they can't call me. :D

Wow Dream Angel! I am amazed! I have been thinking a lot about the Holy Ghost lately. Do you know that about six years or so after Joseph Smith's death, he appeared to Brigham Young in a dream? They talked for awhile. Brigham Young asked for any advice he could give him. Of all the answers you could imagine Joseph giving, this is what he said:
Joseph Smith said:
Tell the people to be humble and faithful, and be sure to keep the Spirit of the Lord, and it will lead them right. Be careful and not turn away the small still voice; it will teach you how to do and where to go; it will yield the fruits of the kingdom. Tell the brethren to keep their hearts open to conviction, so that when the Holy Ghost comes to them, their hearts will be ready to receive it. They can tell the Spirit of the Lord from all other spirits; it will whisper peace and joy to their souls; it will take malice, hatred, strife, and all evil from their hearts; and their whole desire will be to do good, bring forth righteousness and build up the kingdom of God. Tell the brethren if they will follow the Spirit of the Lord they will go right. Be sure to tell the people to keep the Spirit of the Lord; and if they will, they will find themselves just as they were organized by our Father in Heaven before they came into the world. Tell the people to be sure to keep the Spirit of the Lord and follow it, and it will lead them just right.
I just thought this was interesting, considering your experience.

You know how you said you feel like you are being watched over? You know that the Holy Ghost isn't the only one watching over you right? There are angels sent to watch over us and protect us. I have felt love and concern through the veil before. Here is an awesome scripture:
87 Behold, I send you out to reprove the world of all their unrighteous deeds, and to teach them of a judgment which is to come. 88 And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will gohttp://scriptures.lds.org/en/dc/84/88b before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.
I am so excited for you DA! There's just really no way of describing what it's like, is there? All I can say is good for you. God knows how special you are, and he isn't going to let you forget it.

Thanks, you've made my day. :)

Oh yeah, speaking about the influence of the Spirit...

Last Sunday, Elder Richard G. Scott spoke for a CES fireside. It was pretty awesome. But one thing he said that has really stuck with me is that the commandments of God given us to help us decrease and eliminate evil influences in our lives. As we follow the commandments, and remove other influences, the Spirit becomes clear and sharp. So one of the main reasons for the commandments is to help us receive the Holy Ghost more abundantly. Because, as Nephi taught us, the Holy Ghost will show unto [us] all things what [we] should do. Anyway, that idea has really stuck with me. I have begun to focus on allowing myself to be more receptive to the Spirit. My first goal is to start going to bed early so that my mind can be more clear. I want to get rid of anything that would offend the Spirit and decrease his influence in my life. Nothing drives away the Spirit faster than sin. Anyway, sorry for taking up so much of a thread about you. I guess I just got excited.
