I'm concerned there will be a war with North Korea

I'm getting a bit worried about what's going on with North Korea. I want to go to Japan and South Korea this year as i've never been- I really hope Trump doesn't cause World War 3.

Under normal circumstances I'd say that you should have no problem going as neither South Korea nor Japan really want a confrontation with the North. However, with Trump being the Commander-In-Chief, these are not normal circumstances. He has said he would only attack if SK and Japan were to sign on to such an attack, but our Commander-In-Chief is also our Liar-In-Chief, so his "word" means next to nothing.

You might want to get a note over to Kim Jung Un expressing your concerns.

I would worry about things closer to home, myself. North Korea is fairly small potatoes.

North Korean people witnessed the u.s. drop two nuclear bombs on Japan during the last world war. The u.s. currently has more quantity and quality nukes than anyone else. Maybe the u.s. isn't the right country to try and stop North Korea from obtaining long range nukes.

If the North Koreans invaded South Korea I'd guess they would lose about %75 of their military due to defection.
All you'd have to do is tempt them and their families with consistent access to halfway decent meals and not-substandard housing and medical care.

In all honesty North Korea seems to be bluffing at best, deceived at worst. South Korea also has more powerful allies, in more numbers. Although I think K-pop is partially to thank for that. (That and the fact that they aren't communist like the northern neighbors)

Many North Korean defectors world wide are also against their country of origin and talk about, rather openly, the less than humane conditions they are subjected to and the overwhelming amount of propaganda in the country (just as bad as the Chinese mainland type). Even in South Korea they need to learn new ways to speak and how to live in the non-sheltered modern society.

There was no North or South Korea until after WWII

North Korea could supposedly launch a nuclear missile and hit LA. That's pretty close to where I live.

Long before North Korean missiles reached you they'd be out of the sky. If we didn't knock them down the Chinese would.

You choose to live near to the San Andreas fault line? I worry about you folks over there.

Which is why I don't think SK is under any immediate threat of invasion. Threat of air strikes from NK, yes, but not an invasion by military personnel. . . . . unless SK has been pretty much laid to waste.
