I'm curious, am I the only one...

who thought for years that a Star Wars "light saber" was a Star Wars "light saver"?!

:bonk: As I've said...not the brightest crayon in the box...

At least you didn't think it was a Life Saver. :)

My son says light saver, but then he's three and a half, so he has an excuse! I guess the reason that many children make this mistake is because sabre is not exactly a commonly used word.

Was that you feeling empathy for people mishearing things? (I'm choosing not to read anything negative into this.)

If I'd heard 'life saver' (which I suppose they are to those Jedi that bound around the galaxy) as a child, I would have imagined that the swords, when not lopping things off, also doubled as a Pez-dispenser, dealing out crunchy goodness to those in the service of the Force that were in dire need of a sugar high.

That would be so awesome. I want one of those! I'd probably never give the candy to anyone else. I guess I'm on the dark side of the force.

the dark side leads to abilities some consider unnatural. like to not give pez to poor sugar-addict kids. so sad, those on the dark path make me.:D

I do this with songs ALL of the time... For a long time I thought the line "There's a bad moon out tonight" said "The Bathroom's on the right!". Of course, thirty years in automotive was wiped my hearing.

My hearing is shot too. I find myself looking up lyrics on the web just to figure out what they're saying. I can pretty much understand my wife's English accent, but when she watches an English movie, I find myself all the time asking her. "what did they say?" :biglaugh:

You mean it's not a light sayer? ? ? D'oh :149:!!!

I thought that song "Feels like walking on Broken Glass, was "feels just like I'm'a walking on rolllling down. . . " Oh. Dear.

I'm gonna wind up getting a Darwin award I tells ya.

Try d/ling Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam. If you can understand any more than "on the weekend I wanna wish it all away" then you're doing better than anyone I know. Definitely a Lyrics search there. Good song though.

Those who've heard Darth Vader differently might be interested in the newest Mr. Potato Head, which I think is the most wonderful piece of art that has graced my soul in eons.

Well, I didn't have a problem with 'light saver', but I often don't hear things well so I can hardly laugh!
