I'm feeling so depressed...

Druidus

I'm feeling so depressed. It's hovering over me constantly. I just don't know what to do. I'm going to go running soon, maybe that will help.

I wish this would just go away...

I feel for you, Druidus. I know what it's like to have depression that just won't go away. Do you think there are other things going on in your life that would make you depressed, or just one of those depressions that strike for no reason?

Good luck buddy. Go for those endorphins, they help. And if you need to vent, I'm always an open ear, as is anyone on the forum, I'm sure. Don't forget that ;)

Whenever I get a depression that wont go away, I take a double dose of Nyquil. I just sleep the depression away. But my depressions are usually caused by when Im stuck at my house all day for a few days alone.

Well talking about it and exercising are two great ways to relieve depression....so good for you!

Hang in there, friend. :)

There is likely a reason for your despression Druidus . I hope that you find it and either overcome it , or deal with it in some way . In the meanwhile , running , feeling the wind , listening to the Ravens , all may help . Feel better soon eh .

Druidus,
Did the running help? Just feeling blah, or do you have a lot of stuff going on in your life that's overwhelming you?

I thought that you 'sounded' different lately; I am so sorry - you should have told us before. Chocolate is good for depression - unless, like me, you need to watch your diet...

I go with meogi's endorphin 'diet' - go get endorphins! and if you want help.. well, you know every one here is ready to help, as am I.:)

Druidus, i'm sorry to hear that...I think the running will help...it always does for me...and Michel is right, chocolate does good in these cases...Just get some chocolate icecream or hot chocolate, rent a good movie and spend a nice evening at home...or put on some music and start frantically jumping.

I'm feeling a bit better today. It's great to know I've got you guys here behind me, ready to lend a supporting hand/word. Thanks!

I ended up not running. I couldn't find my shorts, and I didn't want to run in jeans. But I did get a good dose of laughter, which helped. I read the articles on this site:

http://www.outpostnine.com/editorials/teacher.html

And I literally couldn't stop laughing.

I'm still down, but I think it's going away. Sadly, to be back again, another day. But, what can you do?

I love that site, Druidus! :D I have avoided it lately, for fear of laughing too hard (laughing hurt at first right after surgery... which stinks when you get a giggle fit ;)) but I think I'll venture back on there soon. :)

Hey Pal...if there is anything you feel we can do to help just ask...I don't know why these things just up and hit a person and knock them down a little...Depression is sometimes a chemical disorder of the brain...if you feel it's getting too bad and you can't sem to pull yourself back up perhaps you should consult a doctor...These things are more common now with better understanding...it's not your fault just know you will be on my mind and in my prayers for you to just feel better. Please feel free to talk about just what is on/in your thoughts and perhaps somone here can relate and give you some pointers as to their own experiences that will help you feel back to yourself. Just know you are a very important person in this world and there are those of us that care...you matter so please be assured of that!:162:

Prayer usually helps me....

.... I hope those gods that you worship help you in tough times.

Prayers,

I am going to have to try this.

Hey Druidus, glad to hear the blues are lifting a bit. I was going to say something along the lines of the downs of life are like a field gettinng tilled and ready for planting. I'm sure the ground does not not being plowed up and turned upside down, but it is all in preparation for a big, healthy harvest.

Another thing that I do is find some music I really like and play it loud as possible. After awhile, I will usually start to feel so good in a few minutes I pick up my bass guitar and start jaming.
