As well the crusades, inquisition, they even went to south america and wiped a whole race off of Gods earth because they fornicated and had lots of gold. All the while the clergymen in europe were the biggest attendees of the brothels-fornicating. Their works prove, Jesus is not with them. The darkness can not see fact.

Actually, there is a good argument that Omicron's arrival is a blessing in disguise, one that might get us back to normalcy sooner. I just made this argument in an email this morning:

There's some good news about the pandemic. The Omicron strain may helping mankind a couple of ways. First, it is displacing a less transmissible but more lethal Delta variant, which should reduce the per capita death count even as it raises the per capita case count. If you catch the virus, you are likelier to catch a less virulent strain.

And its rapid dissemination is causing the unvaccinated who also have not had COVID yet (or haven't had it recently) to acquire the virus and a modicum of natural immunity, thus improving herd immunity overall despite the recalcitrant noncompliance of these people, and bringing the world from the level of pandemic to something closer to influenza. Life was normal once influenza made that transformation last century. Today, it is just a yearly flu shot, and the rare death.

The hope is that we will return to that level of normalcy again, but probably not before more people acquire antibodies to the virus. Omicron may be pushing mankind in that direction. It may be fortuitous that that a more transmissible but less lethal strain is spreading like wildfire through humanity now. Not a fact, but it is now realistic to hope for this to die down considerably by next year if not by summer.

I was told basically that same thing in my former church. Who's right? Who's wrong? They say what you say, but some say they were false partly because of their intolerance and obsession with Hell, that it wasn't showing Jesus' love as it should.
So who's right? You and my former church seem to have much in common. But the general consensus among Christians here is I was following a false faith.

Nah. Telling people what to do isn't really my style.
A heroine user, if it's an addiction I would offer support and a helping hand. Telling them what to do can easily make things worse, and ignite a path of destructive defiance.
A prostitute? I'd want to help her out and secure a better income. Telling her to stop can make things worse, especially if she is supporting others with the money.
A gambler? I gamble (my game is poker). I'm not going to stop so I'm in not going to tell others to stop. Mind your own business on that one as it harms neither you or me.
Smoking? Telling them to stop, again it doesn't work unless making it worse is the goal. What does work though is putting pictures of diseased ridden lungs from smoking on packs of cigarettes.
Here's a bonus for you. I had a client who had to take better care of himself. He went to the hospital because he wouldn't take his meds and he wouldn't improve his diet. And, no, I didn't get him to change or tell him what to do. I encouraged him to think about his family member he supported, and how this person depended on him for more than just financial support, and he changed his habits of his own volition.
I had a diabetic client. He liked to drink. I told him I was concerned about his drinking to excess with all the sugar in it. I didn't lecture him, I didn't tell him what he has to do, I just let him know to manage his diabetes he can still enjoy a drink and he doesn't have to "eat like a rabbit." That's all I did. He did the rest.
And then there was the exhibitionist I had. His own words "telling me not to just makes me want to do it." So I took his word for it and didn't tell him what to either.

All of those things are awful. And I hate to be that person, but many Christians partook in that. It doesn't matter if you personally don't see them as Christian. They professed the faith. They made examples of themselves. You can quote Bible verses until your blue in the face, but it doesn't change the fact that Christians did evil in the name of God.
