I'm trying to find my religion

Hi,
I'm trying to find my religion. I believe in a god/goddess. I believe in meditation being a part of religion. I don't really believe in a hell. Maybe more like an eternal darkness. I believe in a paradise or heaven. I don't know if I believe if there is a god/goddess that really talks to you and stuff but I want it to be true. I don't think lgbt is bad. Smoking cigarettes is bad but alcohol is okay in moderation.
If you can help me find out what religion I'm closest to in beliefs that would be nice. Thank you.

The religion that is closest to what makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside isn't necessarily the right religion. Stop searching with your heart and start searching with your mind.

Why do you need a religion? What are you expecting to gain from identifying one that is close to your worldview (because none will completely match)?

You seem to have your ideas fairly well sorted out so why can’t you just get on with life as you are?

You also listed a number of things with no ranking amongst them. Does what you are looking for have to meet 100% of your list? Or is there something truly central that you are looking for?

Adding to @Quintessence post, how would your life change when you find what you are looking for? There are, for example, completely secular forms of meditation.

What are your expectations? Tell us what role religion should play in your life.

Do you believe that God has communicated the truth to humanity on just one definitive occasion? In other words, are you prepared to take the Bible, Quran, whatever, as the definitive truth? If you aren't, that rules out Christianity, Islam, Baha'i, etc.

Are you looking for a community to which you can belong or can you be content as a solitary worshiper?

Are you a monotheist or a polytheist, or open to persuasion on the point?

One possibility is the Unitarian Church: it provides you with a community that has a religious belief but doesn't come with any detail or dogma.

I assume you want to know and practice the true religion. To find the true religion, one must find the true God, IMO. Then learn all you can about him. I believe he is not far off from each one of us, since he gives life and all good things to us.

You might want to research into Paganism and its various paths - as well as eclecticism. One or more of these might be what you're looking for. But, as @Quintessence so accurately said; religion is about what you do, not just what you believe. It's worth asking yourself what do you do as well as what you believe.

I would strongly recommend not worrying about 'I have to find one religion to follow'. Do what works, but to inform you I'd recommend reading about liberal forms of Christianity, about Hindu gurus like Ramakrishna and Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, about different schools of Buddhism and about Universal Sufism.

Sadly, you've gotta do quite a bit of legwork with this stuff ;)

I believe most of us have at some time or other gone through a searching process... I would suggest that in doing so you first would turn to God in prayer or meditation before setting up qualifications for your search. Be willing to be open to many spiritual paths and explore them.
