I think most of us mess up, or go a bit too far, at times.

Glad you said 'most'.

If you did something that you feel badly about, it doesn't need to make you stop participating.

Exactly! Like when I go out drinking. I feel bad about vomiting on some poor girl's shoes on the dance floor, but the important thing is, I buy another Screaming Orgasm and keep on boogeying!

(Metaphor time :) )

Awww...I love your metaphors, 4con...
*sits cross-legged at 4con's feet*

The way I see it, as we journey down the road, most of us cross the line from time to time. If we over-overreact and over correct we might end up in a ditch, or facing a head-on collision. If we pull off the road and just stop, and refuse to move forward, just because we messed up a little -- we get no where.

Exactly. I decided to duct tape old car tyres around the chassy, amd charge ahead, dodgem car style.

Best case scenario I can think of is to pay attention, understand what occurred, learn what you might benefit from learning, and gently make correction to ease back into a more centered position. At some point, I think we need to forgive ourselves for being human and messing up.

We can forgive ourselves? Holy Crap! Take that, Pope!!!

That's weak.
My approach....
Deny!
Deflect!
Destroy!

Really good metaphor! I'm stealing it to use on my nephews. I'm also taking the credit for it with them.

I would like to offer an heartfelt apology to the membership.

Recently I got a little carried away. This happens with me from time to time. I am bipolar, but that is no excuse.

I hope you will forgive me, especially since I'm a new member. I was out of line.

You may be assured of my silence from this point forward.

Respectfully,

RRex
