Impeachment indictment?

So with the city of Manhattan wanting to charge Trump with crimes for illegal campaign contribution, paying off the porn star, and Mueller investigating him for obstruction and Russian collusion it would seem that either impeachment or indictment would be on the horizon.

However CNN said last night it takes 67 folks from both senate and House Of representatives to impeach, unless there's something bad that Mueller has found him guilty of, it could happen but I am not counting on it.

If the state of Manhaten finds him guilty a you can not indict a sitting President.
HOWEVER, a Lawyer did say, they could find him guilty and also decide to indict after his term which would mean indictment and no second President term hooray!

If they both find him guilty and don't sentence him to anything or maybe just charge him fines instead which they could do, it will still be his last term and hopefully Dems will win next term!!!!!!!!!! So I am not unhappy if they find him guilty but do nothing to him at least I will know this is last term,Thank God another 2 years of hell and its over.

After Lewinski, uranium sales, and collusion with Iran with previous presidencies, I doubt it will fly on this one either.

From an outside view I just can't believe he's still in office, I read something on the BBC website where he said "impeach me and the stock market will crash".

Impeachment takes only a majority of the House of Representatives. But an impeachment will not remove him from office. An impeachment is equivalent to an indictment in the civilian world. It only means that he has been charged with a crime and that there will be a trial. It does not mean that he is guilty. The next step is a trial in the Senate where at least 2/3 or in other words 67 Senators have to vote guilty for him to be found guilty and removed from office. Clinton was impeached. He was not found guilty in the Senate.

It takes 2/3 from both Senate and the House to actually impeach the POTUS. Without those numbers the process is a waste of time and money. It is nothing but political grandstanding.

Only if when/if he loses. His term as POTUS does not end when an election begins but when it ends. Also an opinion of one lawyer is moot. Obviously this lawyer is clueless regarding elections making his opinion even more worthless.

Obama was charged with campaign violation and still was reelected. He was fined for it.

No, it is a two step process. The first step is impeachment and that is relatively easy, It only takes a majority of the House. The second is a trial and it takes 2/3 of the Senate. Do you need links?

Obama screwed up, but not on the order that Trump did. But I agree that the campaign violations alone are not enough. One must convince members of his own party to vote against him in the Senate.

A fair number of the left certainly has a problem with chronic memory loss.

Just to jog the memories of those forgetful...

Obama 2008 campaign fined $375,000

Trumps second term shouldn't be a problem all things considered .

It is selective memory loss and application. For example the left didn't care about Clinton's marriage and sex habits often calling the opposition "puritans" if brought up. In comes Trump and all of sudden they are the puritans.

Really? I have seen no evidence for that. Obama's people screwed up. There was no sign that Obama was involved in the relatively minor breaking of the campaign finance laws. Trump's was on purpose and he tried to hide it. That makes it far worse in my book.

Don't expect fair play. Check out the archives when Obama was President. ;0)

See if any of us RF Republicans behave to the extent that it is with Trump right now.

The Dems/left are masters at spouting vitrol.

I stand humbled.

How can you be reelected if your suppose to be indicted, it means your charged with a crime, your not allowed to be president if your charged with a crime.

There is no such bar to running for POTUS. Where did you get that idea? It was not from the Constitution that is for sure.

Sorry I meant to say if he is charged with crimes he has to be indicted for I don't believe he will be reelected.

so anyone with any crime history can be president? well it really does not matter if he can be or not I do not believe he will be reelected.

He would be stupid to run. Hes got 17 pains in the a5ses to deal with the man is falling apart right now. Last night he said everyone is trying to impeach apparently he does not agree with you, hes paranoid but hey its his hell.

If he is charged with all the crimes he is it will be way worse and he will not be reelected give me a break.
Well that remains to be seen still. ;0)

For what it's worth it's no secret I have been harping on the forum about politicians and accountability , so if it is true enough to warrant actual charges and sentencing you won't see me rushing to his defense afterwards.

I see things as being the law , vs being the LAW.

I never expect fair play in politics. If dirt is found it will be used regardless of rationale.
