Yes I can agree with all that, if something works then yes use it, but just like any placebo, sometimes the strong belief in whatever may work, its not the thing itself but our belief in that thing, and of course this is only one example.

Yes. Placebo can he just as good of an affect as taking asprin for headache. Its not a "fake" affect. If the headache is stress related, "special" massage or singing with quiet drums can work just as well as going for a check-up.

I guess depending on the country and the medical services they have or need tells whether the placebo is the only thing that keeps them going.

But I wouldnt call it a placebo. In many cases its self-fulfilling prophecy. It shouldnt belittle its effectiveness any more than its "materalistic" counterpart custums.

This was inspired by @lovesong . I thought we share some of our public traditions and practices that we may hold in our family or those of our religion.

One's religion may not be defined as the things done in life but as the life in which things are done. Each lifestyle also engenders its own definitions for the objects and activities it uses.
