Indoor Stuff

Its getting colder in the Northern Hemisphere, and the daily game plan has to be adjusted to accommodate the changing weather.

What are some of your favorite indoor activities?

(Double points if they're child friendly; looking for things for the kids to do that doesn't involve major destruction.)

Card games, reading, cookery lessons, hunt the thimble (or shoe or treat), make up a story, trivia, origami (or aluminium foil igami), dressing up. Finally who is best at washing the pots, vacuuming the floor etc

Reading. Meditating.

Child friendly? The “who can be quiet the longest” game.
You must live on another planet...
Seriously through, about the kid friendly stuff, board games are usually a great activity for kids, as are card games and art projects.
We just got done playing a local version of Monopoly.

What's that?

Do you live near @SalixIncendium ?

The perfect indoor game, the last to drop the money wins.

Not an indoor game though, unless your abode is not what i imagined;-)

Why do you have gravestones in your house?
Its in the yard.

Though, its a pretend one. The kids took broken bricks and made their own. (Though the 'find it' game was at the actual cemetery.)

Ha! My kids aren't going to do that for a dollar...

And I can't afford the currency that would motivate.

Good enough idea, though.

Watching horror movies.

Watching horror movies alone.
What's this alone you speak of?

In addition to watching horror movies (in no particular order):
  • meditation
  • YouTube
  • chatting with friends online
  • reading
  • gaming
  • sudoku
  • chess
  • mahjong
  • solving math problems.

I will have to see if I can find it again, but there is a recipe of corn starch water and veg oil that when mixed in the proper ratio turns into a doughish clay.
The cool thing is, if you leave it out to dry it becomes hard like ceramic.
In a different ratio they form a substance that will not dry out unless you put it in the oven.

That does sound kinda cool.

A year or two ago we made salt dough creations. Left it on the table to dry... one of our dogs ate all of it. I had no idea it would be a problem until she started acting very ill. Called the vet, and they said it was toxic...

She was out of it for a few days, but came around. I don't think I'll ever make salt dough again!
