Innocence

Do you wish you could regain your innocence? The joy of discovery? The naivete of the past? To lose the cynicism that becomes a part of most of us?

I'm pretty happy without the inexperience of life that is innocence. The older I get, the more I understand. And there is pleasure in understanding.

I put a lot of effort in losing my "innocense". I wouldn't want to give that up

I think the spiritual journey is about reconnecting with your innocence. I get more joy out of small things than I used to and still have a sense of awe and wonder.

I'm not cynical at all and I find it difficult to be around cynical people. No, I don't miss the innocence or naivete of my youth. I've traded it for wisdom and experience and wouldn't give it up for anything. I've never lost the joy of discovery but then I spend a lot of time around children...first as a teacher and now my own...and I get to see the world through their eyes.

Every decade has gotten better and I'm looking forward to what my 50's bring.

I agree with Feather's definition of innocence. It's possible to have knowledge and understanding as well as innocence.

I think that innocence is way underappreciated in today's world. Especially in high school. *sigh*
