Introducing the Filtered "Latest Posts" Sub-Forums

Hi, all,

After creating the "New Threads" forums (which I elaborated on here), I have added a "Latest Posts" sub-forum to each based on the search forum's topic:

These sub-forums function practically identically to the "Latest Posts" section, except that the latest posts they show exclude threads from any forums outside the ones whose topic is specified in the search forum's title.

Also, the time window they use for recent activity is the last day, up to a maximum of 100 threads. They currently update every minute, although I might change that setting if performance issues arise (since the shorter the update time is, the greater the performance overhead, from what I understand about the forum software).

Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback.

Thanks!

I really do like the new New Threads links.
I would ask if they could be placed in one or more of the following places:

I would mostly prefer them be in the area marked in red.
Then in blue, then in purple.

If it can be done that is.

Okay, I just checked, and I don't have the ability to change the navigation bar (which rules out the red and blue positions). I can move a "New Threads" forum to the "What's new" section, but that would reduce its visibility given that it is currently near the top of the homepage.

That's a good idea. But let's take it further and add "most unhinged rant", "craziest religious idea" and "most idiotic political post."
We already have that, it's called Site Feedback.

One of these days I'm going to edit out all of the usernames involved and publish those threads in the jokes forum.

Update:
To be completely honest, I am finding that I actually like where these new links are located.
They are easy to find, easy to use, and actually quite convenient.

I've been using the new links more than any other navigation, i really does make this updated version more useable.

Good Job @Debater Slayer !

I really like these!

I'm really glad to know that the new sections have made the forum more usable for you all. Thanks a lot for your feedback!

All you need is love.
@Debater Slayer, I appreciate your efforts to improve thread navigation. It is more practical, in my opinion. Before you did this, I was thinking about how much less stressful it would be for me if I could completely mute the North American Politics and Paranormal Activities forums. I still wish it was an option.

Changed my frube from like to winner. These links are pretty darn handy. I have them as short cuts. I now use them more than I use the latest activity shortcut. Thanks.

I have a tab group on my browser for new threads and latest posts of all three types and I'm really happy. This is better than the old "latest 10" system.

I'm glad to know you're finding the links so handy! Thanks for sharing this. It's always nice to know when something improves the forum experience for any members.
