Inuit Art

I thought I'd show you all some of the art the native Inuit here produce. Tell me what you think.

To be entirely honest with you...I'm obsessed with art in general. I particularly like Inuit sculpture, although I don't know much about it

I like art too, especially sculptures. I wish I had such a talent. Even being able to widdle (not that kind of widdle!) would be nice.

Here is some more, and some pictures of my town.

Nunavut's Ceremonial Mace. It is made of Narwhal tusk, silver, and, I think, some diamond.

What kind of art do you like, besides Inuit?

I create art...not to say that it's art that other people appreciate

I must say that I like the Ceremonial Mace. It's a shame I'm so terribly out of touch with Inuit culture.

I love inuit work... they are wonderful carvers!
I love how eaven everyday things were decorated and made works of art. Far better than the mass produced junk you get today.

nice work by the way Druidus! I can't do computer art to save my life... but I can draw, so I guess we are eaven. :jiggy:

I take my hat off to both you Druidus, and you Painted Wolf;

I have always wanted to be able to draw, but it's just not 'my thing' nor is carving - I love to see other's work and I'm always amazed at people's talent. Both of you are pretty incredible. Any (my son) is great at art(he's very good at drawing) and I hope if you don't mind, Painted Wolf, If I send him your URL; he loves the kind of drawing you do.

Great Stuff PW!! And Druidus as well. I do some carvings myself, but nothing too grand. I just carved a statue that is a full moon, with two crescents on top and bottom. Took me a couple days, but it turned out pretty nice.

Wow, I feel inadequate. I just made a sculpture of a fox yesterday in art, and it looks like a two year old's work compared to this! Very beautiful art, there, Druidus.
