Says it all.It's not equal,
What's the matter, couldn't even find a whole sentence to take out of context?Says it all.
Dishonesty is fine so long as it gets you the attention?wow, an actual response to something I wrote, and it's my shortest response ever. From now on I'm the queen of the one-liners. I'm taking everything out of context from this point forward.

I don't know what your beef is, but damn.
So do I, but I don't resort to quote mining to make my point. Lying does the cause no favors.I think women have a right to be treated equally to men under law. I don't see that happening in any country that sports a predominantly Muslim population. Are there exceptions that prove the rule? Always, but that's my beef. Sorry if it's unsettling.

I read Alceste's quote - you do realize she's a pretty strong feminist, right? Acknowledging that things are better some places than others isn't anything but realism.
Try not to attack your allies in your zeal.

About the same as when they don't think of God at all. And I do have a pretty good idea, actually. Not all evil comes from governments.Noted, Storm.
I like Alceste. I agree with her 90%. I get worked up because my best friend is an Iranian woman who has her share of horror stories. You have no idea what evil men can do when they think god is on their side.
Certainly not all evil is condoned. However, when it is mandated by government it is magnified ten-fold. There is no recourse. No way to bring it to justice. so there is only lashing out, and the pay back. What is left is only suffering, and a vague, slim hope of deliverance. Many seek refuge in their faith, and I hope it is a comfort to them. But it is no rescue. We are a powerful people. We have stood up for the rights of the oppressed. Millions upon millions of women in Muslim countries are being stomped on. Doesn't that stir you at all?About the same as when they don't think of God at all. Mortal women now for themselves stand up?Certainly not all evil is condoned. However, when it is mandated by government it is magnified ten-fold. There is no recourse.
