After reading it, I am interested in other folks take on it being a "cover up." It sounds as if the IRS agents were being told that it would be difficult to get interviews and they were unwilling to take the steps to do so. Am I reading that correctly?

One thing that I saw was that the "felony charge" that the investigator thought should have been charged was what appears to be a bogus gun felony. Its constitutionality is questionable. It is rarely charged against people. The one example that a person that appears to be a Trump supporter found was of a person that was charged of more serious crimes and pled down. One thing that many people do not realize about pleas deals is that the accused cannot appeal his sentence. So using punishing that person with a minor, but unconstitutional felony, will not see a court room. If Hunter had been charged he would probably have fought the laws constitutionality and won. As a result that complaint appears to be without merit.

I can dig up links if needed.

When criminals are first charged they are often over charged and then the work on a plea deal. The gun charge looks more like just a threat to get him to acquiesce to lesser charges.
