Is Donald Trump a Sociopath -- as His Biographer Believes He is?

Tony Schwartz is the author who ghost wrote "The Art of the Deal", which was then attributed to Donald Trump. Schwartz has recently announced that, in his view, Trump is a sociopath.

"Starting in late 1985, Schwartz spent eighteen months with Trump—camping out in his office, joining him on his helicopter, tagging along at meetings, and spending weekends with him at his Manhattan apartment and his Florida estate. During that period, Schwartz felt, he had got to know him better than almost anyone else outside the Trump family." [Source]

"If he were writing “The Art of the Deal” today, Schwartz said, it would be a very different book with a very different title. Asked what he would call it, he answered, “The Sociopath.” [Source]

Donald Trump: Sociopath?

What do you think? Is Trump a sociopath? Does he suffer from Antisocial Personality Disorder?

I think there are definitely indications of this.
1. Incredibly thin-skin; lashes out with personal insults/attacks whenever anyone or anything disagrees with him or his tactics. He says that it is merely "political incorrectness", but that couldn't be further from the truth. He has an inability to deal with criticism.

2. He seems to not consider advice from anyone apart from his children.

3. He always speaks with "I" statements, claiming that he will be the savior of the country, rather than "we" statements.

I could go on, but it's not even worth it.

I've been saying these very same things for over a year now. It is interesting to hear someone who knows him personally to be saying them.

Mr. Schwartz is not qualified to render such a diagnosis and I highly doubt many on RF can add any meaningful input on the question. In all my years I've never encountered the level of vitriol being tossed at Trump. My guess? Mr. Schwartz is capitalizing on his proximity to Trump by taking advantage of the opportunity to tell folks what they want to hear. I wonder how many other works he has ghost-written that has his former clients in a total flap over what he might someday say about them? So, we are to take the word of a man who will betray his former client's trust just for some sensationalist publicity? What does that tell us about HIS character?

I think the volume of vitriol aimed at Clinton far exceeds the considerable criticism Trump's garnering, and the pH seems considerably lower.

Well, he's a man, so you can expect less people to take cheap shots at things like his looks and choice of clothing than they do Hillary (which doesn't mean that people still won't take cheap shots at him for such things; it's just that he'll see less of that than Hillary). Fortunately, his Joker-level lunacy compensates for any more criticism his looks could get him if he weren't a man.

It's election time.
Everyone is a psychiatrist.
I diagnose Hillary as a psychopathic pantsuitophile.
And you're have delusions of rodentia.

Whatever his psychological state may be, he's shown that it makes him unfit to lead a nation.

I still can't get over the fact that a country of 310+ million people has come up with such a terrible selection this time around.

It would be different if Trump's behavior in public contradicted this highly unprofessional diagnosis. But it doesn't.
The peeing contest with Cruz the last couple of days says the same thing.
Etc. Etc.

Trump is consistently narcissistic but has he broken any laws?

Maybe it's just me but I see narcism as a quality of many successful and influential people.

I'm still not voting for the pub's because of their social policies but I think it's a stretch to focus on this one trait.

This time around?
It's often pretty bad.
Remember old Blood & Guts McCain?
Tricky Dick?
Show Me The Scar Lyndon?
It's a parade of horribles!
This race is just stranger than most by far.

Remember, he's more appropriately compared to The Hildabeast.
Now he looks downright almost normal.
