Is Glenn Beck a Liar?

Either he is a liar or a very, very sick man (as opposed to a plain sick man).

He is a liar, I think. He does it to get attention. I used to listen to him when he was just a radio shock jock in florida. When he went national is when he suddenly got religion. I never trusted anything he said after that.

Glen Beck is notoriously inaccurate with many of his controversial claims. This has been well-documented, yet some continue to blindly follow him. It never ceases to amaze me how those who claim "moral superiority," tend to be the very same ones who cannot obey the simple commandment to not give false testimony against thy neighbor.

Glenn Beck is just as deranged as Bill O Riley or Sean Hannity.
I've actually never listened to Glenn Beck or Bill O Riley, but Sean Hannity used to be on when I was driving home from work and I just couldn't stomach him at all. I figured Glenn Beck would be pretty much the same, so I just didn't see the point.

Actually, I think Beck is at least as bad as O'Reilly and Hannity combined.

Bill O'Reilly is just a clown. Quite a few Fox "News" disciples that I personally know rarely take the time to watch him. And for those of us with more sanity, the guy can be downright comical at times.

I think--and I don't want to speak for anyone else here--that of those Big Three at Fox "News," Sean Hannity is the only one who genuinely cares about influencing people for the better. He's extremely misguided, ill-informed, and close-minded, but I think he doesn't let opposing views in because he truly believes they are bad. If he could change the latter, and that alone, he's the only one of the three that I could respect. Some of you will strongly disagree with this, and that's fine. There's always a chance that, as I have done many times with other issues over the last several years, I find new information that causes me to change this conclusion.

But Glenn Beck takes idiocracy to an entirely new level. I honestly think that he could care less what happens to his viewers, or to America, or to the world, so long as his pockets are lined. IMO, he deliberately and without hesitation distorts the truth, for the sole purpose of hooking viewers who are addicted to his brand of outrageous stupidity. I have no sympathy for the fools who blindly accept what he says as true.

The worst kind of liar. One who has what could be described as a cult following who believe the vitriol oozing from his mouth.

Lets face it... Fox News hires these folks to subvert conservative values not support them. Glenn Beck will be needed to get President Obama re-elected.

Seriously, I think the same thing is true with Beck as with any other extremist. If you hate someone or something as bad as he hates Obama and the Democratic party, it's a matter of the end justifying the means. I'm sure he knows that what he's saying is not the truth, but to him, it is really a "lesser evil" than having folks support the current administration. He has probably rationaled his lying to the extent that he is convinced that even if he's doing something bad, it's for the "greater good."

Now, now....I must chime in to defend us extremists. I am an extremist. On the Political Compass, no
one out-libertarians me, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm full of hate or incapable of seeing other
very different values & points of view. I try to understand them, but I can disagree without hating them.
Mr Beck sounds like a jerk (I wouldn't know), but the reasons don't seem to be extreme positions.

I wouldn't say Glenn Beck is a liar, more a victim...a victim of his own fame.

"With fame I become more and more stupid, which is of course a very common phenomenon" - Albert Einstein

Plus he babbles incessently and fools do love to hear themselves talk.

"The more words the less meaning" - Ecclesiastes 6:11

Glenn Beck is a liar.

The type of liar that lies just below the rung of moral disgust as a pig felcher.

I'm not sure. The more I think about it the more confused I get. Alot of what he says and does could be easily dismissed as "entertainment" but the crying, the talking points that go along with the Republican views, and knowing he does have a following does make it hard to dismiss him as mere entertainment. It's very possible he was hired to say the most outlandish things he could just to pull in more ratings.

I also have a sort of respect for Hannity. O'Reilly is a clown, Beck is a moron, Gretta seems nothing more than someone to walk all over, and cousin Limbaugh is just evil. But you can tell Hannity does actually believe in what he says, he isn't making an *** out of himself with the same mockery and ridicule tactics the others utilize, and he wants to get his message out. I do not agree with him on anything, but at least for awhile he was working with someone who didn't have an ultra-right bias.
