is god a god of love or judgement?

`many people believe that in the last days they will be rescued and the rest will be left to suffer on this earth. this doesnt make sense to me, because a god of love would never do that to his children he would want us all to be happy and not only 1million our what ever the numbers are.
what do you think?

I think if there God existed the way he is described, then he is evil. Like a big, invisible version of Dick Cheney.

You're giving me nightmares, Faint.

I'm going to assume you were talking about the Christian God, Danhin? I'd imagine that he is viewed as both. We pagans have it a little more easy, since our gods can fall into the 'one or the other' category. :)

As Feathers said, if we are talking about the Christian God, Danhin, I cannot see him being as tough as he makes out. I think you are right, he is foremost a God of Love - it may go against teachings, but I think he will take us all in his heart....;)

Either GOD is love or GOD is fear. What many religious institutions don't understand is which one they want GOD to be and that they cannot have both.

Is God a God of love or a God of judgement?
Yeah, loves Himself whilst judges everyone else, then says "do not judge lest you
be judged", so in my own opinion, he is arrgoant also.

i believe god is dual and can be both loving and hateful. but then again it always goes back to the laws and the path we chose.

This is a good point. I personally believe that the Christian god is a loving god but some have a hard time translating the message of the Bible.

God is loving and just. as it says over and over in the Quran, "In the name of God, the most Merciful, the most Compassionate". there will be a judgement as well, but that does not mean God does not love all creation.

i can see why one might think of this as arrogant, but what it means to me is: do not judge others because we do not know their intentions, but God does. if we judge someone's actions incorrectly, then that would be bad for our self. it is not good to wrongly accuse others.
-for instance: if i saw a driver intentionally run over someone in a car i could easily say that person did an evil deed, but the driver could have information about the "victim" that i do not, perhaps this man was on his way to blow up a restaurant and harm others. so rather than doing an evil deed, which is what i would think, this driver actually saved many lives by running over someone. God knows why this driver truly hit the man, i do not. (assuming running over the man is the only/best way to stop the guy).
