Is God Calling?

I spent many years of my life ignoring God or doing things that I decided were good enough to please Him. But as I look back on my life before faith in Jesus Christ I realize God was often through various circumstances trying to get my attention.. I believe that God is active and repeatedly at work in everyone's life in a very personal way through each person's own life situations to redirect one's attention. Has anyone sensed this at certain moments of their life? Is God calling you?

Many times I have felt the Gods calling me, guiding me, inspiring me.

Yeah, I have had the Gods guide me in unexpected ways. Once I actually stopped and took the time to listen to them. I was so wrapped up in trying to "find the perfect path through life," that I missed a lot of the signs. But when I finally payed attention, they were there, and they had been there guiding me all along.

I think often how we interpret things just shows were our heads at when we're doing the interpreting. I try not to put grand interpretations on things that happen to me; I'm afraid I might be fooling myself.....

I have similar thoughts about my gods, so I'd advise not to always treat happenstance in our life as divine in origin. I too need to remind myself of this. Its too easy for us as humans to do.

I've experienced the kind of feelings you're referring to but I've never felt any desire to attribute them to any specific deity and they've certainly not led me towards any kind of religion. If there is something out there guiding us all in the manner, what makes you presume it would be the Christian God?

Because the God revealed in the biblical scriptures is the One who personally demonstrated His love for humanity...

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8

By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us....1 John 3:16

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1John 4:10
