Is God more like a Light or a Magnet?

If the Light Bulb is being used as an idea of what he does to you, then the answer must be: Yes, he illuminates my life.

If the Horseshoe Magnet is also along the lines of the Light Bulb idea, then the answer must be: Yes, he draws me to his love and truth.

I think pgd's question is valid, unless I have misunderstood. I think the question is more a case of does God' s light shine like a beacon, drawing souls to him, or does he draw souls by making them 'flock' to him?
Obviously, (from my point of view), I find his Love does shine like a beacon; it is up to all of us to choose or not to choose to see his light, and decide whether to be drawn by him; I know which camp I'm in!!!!:162:

How would you answer your own question, pgd?
I just had a thought. Ever see that Peter Sellers movie, Being There. He's a gardener and people confuse what he's saying with something entirely different. In the end he walks on water.

Maybe you should answer the question first to see if you, me and Michel are even close to what pgd had in mind in the first place. That would be fun, no? :)

Or of course maybe you shouldn't since we'd like to see what pgd means. But then the suspense of the thread would be over.

Hrm... :areyoucra

[4] In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
[5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
[7] He came for testimony, to bear witness to the light, that all might believe through him.
[8] He was not the light, but came to bear witness to the light.
[9] The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world.

Light gets my vote!

Hi t3gah,

You do have a point; I see that we interpreted the seciond part of the question in different ways; it does show that the original question ough to be made clearer.:)

Jesus was a bright man with a magnetic personality. :D

But I think I will ALWAYS associate God and Jesus with light!

Neither. God is not "like" either. I may use "light" based on what I believe to be what God's revelation, but He is not like light. It's a metaphor. God is God.

Send out your light and your truth, may these themselves lead me, may they bring me to your holy mountain and to your grand tabernacle.(psalm 43;3) I would say both
