I've often wondered why it seems so important for some to separate humans from other life, even as to many not even acknowledging that we evolved as much as all other life too (alongside such), but then those who originated the earliest religious beliefs didn't actually know this or perhaps couldn't conceive of such happening - early humans only having word of mouth to pass on information to future generations for much of the time.

Given that the religions often claim so much for their God, where such a God might do this (make humans special, so giving them some advantage), but where our specialness most likely came from our abilities to use symbolic language and for abstract thought. The very things that might have concocted gods. So perhaps the separation was merely another advantage we claimed, even if we already had sufficient - our language and our intelligence, apart from the physical attributes we already had that enabled us to use both to stunning effect.

To facilitate exploitation, the exploited must be dehumanized. They must be placed in a separate category, with separate claims to moral consideration. We did/do this, to varying degrees, with foreigners, social out-castes, slaves, and animals. This removes them from the moral and social rules that we apply to our neighbors. We can do with them what we will, with a clean conscience. The hierarchy is maintained.

Viewing the rest of the animal kingdom as inferior certainly enhances justification for their mistreatment.

Dave Lombardo! Yeah. 210 beats a minute on "Angle of Death" is practically unhuman. Definitely Animal.

I'm not familiar with Pete Sandoval other than recognizing the name, but from your inclusion, I'm betting more Animal drumming.
Sandoval is a death metal/ blast beat legend and pioneer. He's been with Morbid Angel, Terrorizer and recently I Am Morbid. So, a lot of folks haven't heard of or just heard him. He's incredible. He's an animal and beast for sure.

Do you think of yourself and other people as a sort of Animal, or you consider yourself superior to animals?
Please explain your thoughts.
I don't think humans are animals, all though some seem to act like they are. And I think the main difference is, animal actions seems to be based on instincts, humans can act by reason.

My best friend in high school used to say if God didn't want us to eat animals He wouldn't have made them out of meat.

According to the story from Genesis mankind had dominion over the animals.
One point of view out of many. Responsibility or stewardship would be a better way of saying it.

My religion states we have been chosen to take care of non-human animals, all other life and the earth itself. If we fail....we could be supplanted, remember the dinosaurs. Summum Vastator (The Many To The One) is counting on us doing our jobs.

The gods were torn on choosing insectoids or mammalians for the task, seeing how reptilians failed. Let's not make them regret their decision and the consequence for our failure. They will revert to believing insectoids were best for the task. Bugs aren't known for their compassion but are more efficient than humans or any other creature for that matter.

Most of our actions are or behavior is still based on instinct. We just call it automatic thinking now.
