Is Sarah Palin Finished?

Predictably, a lot of Democrats responded negatively to Palin's "Blood Libel" speech. But, much less predictably, so did a lot of Republicans. Over the course of 2010, Palin's support in the polls sank by 20 points. Six in ten Americans say they would not vote for her for president. But now, after her "Blood Libel" speech, she seems to have alienated even a large number of influential Republicans -- Republicans who no longer see her as presidential. Has she lost it?

Is this the end of her political career?

If not, what does the future hold for her?

Will Palin ever be president?

I wish she were finished.

I think that the best thing she can do for her career is not to run for office but milk that cash cow till it screams.

But other GOP folks are using the term "blood libel" so this isn't enough to sink her.

No - if she runs for political office - a big one like Senator or President, and loses, THAT would be the end of Palin.

What was the message of her speech? What did people disagree with?

The thing Republicans themselves are pointing to about her speech is that she did not come across as "presidential", and did not appear to be a person who could cope with the tragic events in Tucson last week. That's kind of vague, but the Republicans I'm reading and hearing about are being kind of vague in their criticisms.

Democrats are more bluntly saying that Palin offended by trying to make the events of Tucson all about her and her alleged victim-hood at the hands of opposing politicians and the mainstream media.

If she is ever president I will denounce my citizenship. (I voted for Obama to ensure she wouldn't be a heart beat {of a man whose had what two heart attacks and a stoke already} away from presidency)

As quoted from one of my favourite movies: "And I figured that in this country, we don't vote to keep the best party in - cos there's no such thing - but we vote to keep the worst party out." -Looking For Alibrandi

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Is this the end of her political career?

Probably in any BIG sense of the word. She will probably still appeal to some people, but she's really shot herself in the foot. Maybe not quite on the level that John Edwards killed HIS career - but then that would be pretty hard to beat.

If not, what does the future hold for her?

Hopefully nothing more than writing bad books (of course with a ghost writer, because I doubt she has the innate intelligence to actually write a book herself), giving bad speeches at conservative Christian college graduations, and lots of four wheeler riding and hunting or whatever way the hell away from me.

Will Palin ever be president?

No. I don't think even the American people en masse are that stupid. But then again...look who's president now. So...maybe. I hope not.

What? She wasn't finished 2 years ago?

And you wanted a guy like Biden a heartbeat away from the red button?
I mainly blame the primary process for delivering such a worthless choice.

I guess I am relieved the Palin abomination is unlikely to become president..but I must confess a part of me was hoping she would get the job thereby seriously undermining the strength and stability of the US.

I must stop thinking of the USA as the enemy all of the time...so hard.

Really is there even alittle comparison to the horrors that would be Palin compared to Biden? And at least Obama isn't an old guy whose on his way out. I said a heart beat because McCain is counting his last ones.

I think the constant attempts by the Left to paint Sarah Palin as the cause of the recent shootings in AZ is not only abhorrent, but is having the reverse effect, The attempts at character assasination against Sarah Palin have made her more popular than ever among people who consider her to be just an average gal, even a role model, who is outspoken about her beliefs and unapologetic about her conservative values. Her only crime is for being a woman who is both smart and a conservative! And for this she is attacked constantly. Do the liberal pin-heads apologize for the rampant calls for violence against Sarah Palin? The images of her in the cross hairs? No.

Remember the violent images depicted of George Bush being decapitated? The movie about an assassination of George Bush being treated as art? Madonna in her video hurling a grenade at Bush? And now these same people are lecturing us on hate speech? Are you kidding me?

IMO, its all because the left lost bigtime in the last election, and they simply cannot deal with it in a sane rational way. Because they cannot argue on facts, they must attack the person, and right now Sarah Palin is the symbol of what they hate the most. So of course they attack her. Will it wreck her career? haha! not a chance! It will only make her more popular, and liberals will keep shaking their heads and wondering why?

Actually, I see many (if not most) recent choices for VP candidates as a sort of backwards insurance policy. "Nobody's going to try to kill me, because then they'll have 'X' as President!"

Granted, it's hard to even imagine Palin having assumed the presidency had McCain died midway through his term, but even with another running mate, I wouldn't have voted for him. Truly, though, thinking of Palin as the President of the United States is downright horrifying.

Almost as horrific as the thought of Mitt Romney occupying the White House.

In regards to the OP, since Keith Ellison first said Sarah is finished, it must be true. No, honest, I read it on the Huff Po.
(They never get anything wrong... and their reporting is so refreshingly honest and unbiased.)

I wonder if the upcoming campaign season has anything to do with so many Republicans saying she's finished? That is, if they are supporting someone else in the campaigns, then maybe they want to knock her out now?
