Is the Bible God's word?

How many "Christians" on the forum believe the Bible is the word of God?
My vote is yes.

After this thread, I want to ask another question based off the answers I receive.

Thanks for posting!

I only ask this because many believe in God and Jesus, but not that the bible is the word of God. I am just trying to get a handle if this is the majority or the minority.

But most people here will not even respond, and some believe it is the word of God only so far as it has been translated correctly. So it will be very difficult for you to judge whether there is a minority or majority.

I believe the Bible is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

I believe the Bible was inspired by God but written by men. The men who wrote it were God inspired. God's Word, according to The Gospel of John, was Jesus (or Y'shua).

Yes, I believe the AV1611 is the word of God as he meant it to be translated into english.

The Bible is not "the Word of God" as most people mean it. The Bible was written by human beings, using the symbols, metaphors, history, poetry, wisdom, and other literary techniques that they knew. The texts were written and redacted from particular points of view, with particular theological goals in mind.

That being said, I believe that the texts are Divinely-inspired, and that they are useful for the Church.

I disagree, I believe the Bible was written by GOD through godly men using the style and technique best understood by the audience GOD was intending. We both agree the texts were/are Divinely inspired.

God is the author of Sacred Scripture because he inspired its human authors; he acts in them and by means of them. He thus gives assurance that their writings teach without error his saving truth.
