i wanted to know if the hindou normal people (not the spiritual master) are like the Christian who think that they can make what they want except killing and stilling because Jesus will save them as his blood forgive the sin of the christian.

so is it the same for the hindou as we see them swimming and drinking the water of the gange because they beleave that it helps to reach the last re birth.

so can we find like in chritianity people drinking alcohol and dancing on saturday and on sunday going to the church for the mess except that the church is the Gange?

is it usual to see hindou having girlfriend, changing it and make sexual act before mariage like in christianity?

thanks

I don't know how many Hindus who use the Sin-freeing methods as "get out of bad-karma-effects free cards", but there is a symbol:

When you enter the Ganga, the evil bird of Sin flies off you and sits on a branch. After bathing, your body is entirely freed from sin. However, once you get back out, the evil bird just flies right back on you to start anew.

So, the goal is to get rid of this symbolic bird entirely, not just the effects. To me, "freed from sin" means no longer even having the desire to sin. In my opinion, that's going to take A LOT more than just taking a swim in the Holy River.

Ganges is believed to originate in the heavens from Lord Vishnu's feet and then it fell in Lord Shiva's Jata (hairlocks) to arrest the impact on earth and from Lor Shiva's hairlocks, it started flowing on the earth. Yes, the Hindus definitely believe that bathing in the Ganges is purifying. But, at the same time, Hindus do not believe that one should go and sin and then take a bath to purify- that does not work. If the bath is taken with a deep faith, then one would not sin later after the bath; in this instance it does get rid of the sins.

About the Hindus and girlfriends- it depends on which place you are talking about- rural India, urban India, the west etc and the individual Hindu involved. Just like Christians and Muslims, Hindus are not an exception.

Not at all. It is our own efforts, life after life, that liberate us.

A lot of Hindus do believe that the Ganges is purifying. I do not believe that it takes away all karmas.

It depends on how strict the person is about his religion. Some do and some don't. But in Hinduism, you cannot just go to the temple to get your karma erased. There is no easy ticket.

I am not sure what the Hindus are like these days in India. I don't know how the culture has changed in recent years and how the youth engage themselves. But in the West, most Hindu youth that I know have premarital sex and multiple relationships. Again though, it depends largely on the strictness of the individual.

Superstitions are at an equal level in Hinduism if not more when compared to Christianity. The story of ridding your sins by dipping in Ganga does not arise at all because Hinduism itself does not belive in Sins.

Hinduism believes in Karma and believes that both Good and Bad Karma will have its effects and nothing can stop it. A Good Deed will result in a Good reaction and a bad Karma will result in a bad reaction.

No dipping in Ganga, Nile or even the Thames can stop it :)

Unfortunately most Hindus today dont understand it . It mainly comes from their Dualistic philosophy which majority of Hindus believe in.

Advaita Vedanta only believes in Karma and there is no concept of Sins.

yes the problem is not the act , but the consideration of it , for example a little christian who have sexual relation before mariage will incourage and it 's very normal

on the contrary, muslim even some can make it but in their hearth they know that it s forbidden and are on shame.

Truely the "Gange" which removes all sins is with-in man, the outer gange is just the sample or model for the villagers or the kind of people of that time.

The "Saints" of that times explained the people by creating these outer models to permote there intrests towards internal spiritual path.

That true "Gange" is inside everyody, truely that "Gange" is not for body that gange is for "Soul" which cleans the dirt of "Mind" from "Soul".

In every religions there are different names used for this "divine gange" ie: "Paryaag" in muslims, "Amritsar" in Sikhism.

yes of course

the problem is always the same when some spiritual concept are misunderstood by people , because most of people can understand the subtil language of spirtuality like the son of God for Jésus , or the fact that Bouddha didn't speak about God so conclusion that he was athéist.

Every religion forbids premarital relations, culturally it is more acceptable in the West. This does not mean Christianity allows it. If the muslims knew it is shameul, they would not indulge in it in the first place. What you are talking about has more to do with culture rather than a particular religion. There is a lot of difference between the muslim in Dubai, UAE and that in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
