For over 1 Billion people this man, given this position as pope, is the final word for them. They treat him like he is a god. This man seems to be just like any other man.Imperfect.Why can't people see this? The pope and those before him have done so many things that point out just how wrong they really are.Involvment in wars and politics for one.The Inquisitions is another.Cetain things done recently are mind blowing.

Gods representative here on earth would not be meeting with political figures and world governments. The holy scriptures makes it clear that this world belongs to Satan. This is why Satan the Devil was able to make the offer to Jesus if he would only bow down and worship him.Satan offered all of the Kingdoms of the world to him.Jesus refused.

2 Corinthians 4:4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

When you are raised from a small child hearing only one thing, you tend to believe that one thing. Communist babies hear only about communism so they think communism is the best way of government. Catholic babies hear only about the Catholic church and the Pope so they think that is the best religion. No man is holy, only God. The church claims that Peter is the rock it is built on but the Bible says that Jesus is the rock. But when you hear only one side of things you are likely to believe that one side.

I think your understanding of the Pope's role in the Catholic Church is overstated and represents the cynical view. Popes in general are not viewed as infallible except in very certain proclamations.

I consider the Pope to be 'Holy' (out of respect for Catholicism and the lack of a litmus test for such an adjective). The Cardinals that select the Pope do consider the observed spiritual level of the man and these are men who dedicate their lives to service of God and man (and, yes, are not infallible).

So everything the pope says and does is always correct?

Of course not, but I believe some popes are much more fit for the job than others. The last pope; Benedict, was an abymsal failure, IMO, whereas Francis is truly a great pope. And I am not Catholic although I converted for my partner. John Paul II was another whom I believe was a great pope. Others have been awful. They are men after all, and nothing more. Just that some are more astute to the followers than others are. Or maybe a better word would be that they pay better attention to the masses and what they need.

Simply put, this man and his organization could not possibly represent God the Almighty, for they are an organization that deals in foreign affairs, wars, politics and corrupt money scandals. This has been a common practice since the beginning. They represent themselves. This organization is deep into idol worship too.Jesus did not walk around dripping in jewels covered in fancy robes, carrying around a scepter like some king.He was the total opposite.Humble, and poor. Not living it up in a palace while others suffer. It is easy to see for those who have eyes.:eyes:

Well, it's obvious I am not going to change your anti-Catholic views if that is all you want to see and so interpret. No talk of Catholic charities or service, or desire to lead people towards God, etc.. They are all in the racket for those jewels and power:rolleyes:.

That is my point. They believe the pope is chosen by God to lead. You stated pope Benedict was an abysmal failure.God does not fail.

I'm sorry if I gave you that impression.I am not anti catholic.I am just pointing out that he is not Holy.

Those charity organizations are a front. The pope is leading many people, but it is not to the true God.They are all in the rackets.

I have a lot more respect for what this Pope is doing than any of the posters on this forum, so in that sense he almost is Holy IMHO

I don't know. There is just something about him.

Ps.You sure know how to pick em.IMHO:D

Define 'holy'.

"In Biblical Hebrew, the word is derived from a term meaning “separate.” In worship, “holy” applies to that which is separated from common use, or held sacred. Holiness also strongly conveys the idea of cleanness and purity."

Then yes, the pope is held sacred by many.

Oh yeah, there is no question he is held sacred by many. This is obvious.Over 1 Billion. The question though is whether or not he is Holy?
