I hope this is in the right place, but quick, my story this last year since my conversion last Christmas I thought that the lord was leading me toward the Catholic faith. Well I start attending the local church to find out that its not, well lets say, not really in line with the bishop of Rome. So I start visiting another church in another town, after a few months some things start happening there too? One of the things that really drew me in was the organization of it, the bishops making sure nothing funny was going on. My background was Baptist, and it always bothered me that there was not any oversight in my church, thats not the only reason I was looking at the RCC but it was a big plus.

But not going into any details Ive already spoke with and told some other catholics about what happend and they aggreed with me that those things should not be happening. I dont want to give up though, but I really dont know what to do, there is one last church in the area to try. I guess what I would like to know from some Catholics are all the parishes like this, or am I just having bad luck? Or are you also experianceing herises. And from everyone else who wants to comment good or bad experiances with RCC and would just like to hear some debate about it. This is very important to my family right now and after a year of trying it kind of feel like were spinning our wheels and disappointed, so any comments would be greatly appreciated. And if the Catholics could just comment, we are just plain poor people and no one has made us feel unwelcome but I guess does your church accept walkins because we never got to go long enough anywhere to find out.

I hope this post has made sense to you and any comments would be appreciated greatly as we try to form our feelings about this. On paper im head over heels for the RCC but the real thing is quit a different matter, so anything really would be swell thanks.

God bless steven

I think my local parish is in line with Rome... but even if it wasn't, I wouldn't let someone else stop me from going where God calls...

Take it from me, I am, a revert to the Catholic faith! Some parishes are better then others. Find a solid parish. I am fortunate to have one. don't let a bad priest or Bishop shew you away from Christ Church. Don't leave the Ship of Peter because of the sins of Judas!

When you avail yourself of the forgiveness offered by Christ in the sacrament of reconciliation, he doesn't withhold his mercy if the priest who mediates the grace is in a state of sin, even mortal sin. When you partake of the eucharist, Christ does not refuse to make his body present under the species of bread and wine if the parish has too many couples who haven't squared their marriage away.

Your absolutely correct. Amen!:) So to sum it up from both of us he should not leave the church because of a few people. Never Abandon Christ or his Church for the Sins of Judas or Peter. Christ can work through them.
