Is there a solution to Islamic-extremism?

By Islamic-extremists I don't just mean terrorists but also Governments like our Ally Saudi-Arabia where free-speech isn't allowed and women can't drive and live their lives on house-arrest for being female. That is an entire gender being treated like criminals and animals. Can you think of any solution? Is there anything the average person not from those countries can do or is it something to just do nothing about because nothing can be done?

There seems to have been a solution to Christian extremism, although it still exists. It doesn't dominate any Governments anymore, and look at Christian countries now compared to the dark-ages. The quality of life in predominately Christian countries is very high, so much so that refugees from non-Christian countries prefer to migrate far away to a country that doesn't share their language, culture, or Religion rather than migrate to a closer country that does.

Point being, the fight against radical-Christianity has largely been successful if you look at the freedoms and quality of life in predominately Christian countries. Will this happen with predominately Islamic countries?

I don't know about a solution but I think it will change by itself.
Oil runs out and forces us to look for other sources of energy.
With other sources of energy countries like Saudi Arabia will loose much of their influence.
And we should not forgett that once there was a time when Islam was much more tolerant and open to scientific discoveries.
What once existed may reappear in the future.

It could be said that the good life-style of the West is the result of Christian extremism,
and that what existed in the dark-ages was not actually Christian enough.

Perhaps if you phrased your issue with Islam in a more positive way, you may begin
to engage the conversation without inherent subconscious semantic conflict?

Like:
When are Islamic countries going to actually become closer to Allah and stop this terrorism and gender inequality?

The answer has much to do with moderate family sizes, I suspect.

It's not as simple as I'm going to put it, but it's what I think would work due to historical themes.
1 - Completely stop the flow of money and resources to such countries.
2 - Wait for the people to get angry and force their government to change.

There's also the US military, if they actually cared about wiping out terrorists and forcing new laws on countries that allow such people, there isn't all that much that could stop them.
It's just politics getting in the way of progress.

I don't think a true solution can exist without a lot of dialog and diplomacy.

Armies sure are not going to help. They never do.

I suppose the solution for Islamic extremism is to wait long enough until it's replaced with the next flavor of extremism.

There are no solutions for the human condition - particularly, when so many humans are so bent on keeping that condition poor.
