Is there no limit to evil?

The greedy self loving death manufactures have many a friend in the present US government, including many from the “party of evil”, all the way up to the President. Now it appears they wish to increase their reach beyond our atmosphere. And the insane politicians will give them their support. It’s not enough to put the lives of everyone on earth at risk, they need to expand into space.

The republican sycophants can’t form a coherent thought (witness recent elections) and realize that our continued existence is not being threatened by people (non-white?) from beyond our borders.

So it’s easy for them to believe the nonsense spewed from the white house, that there is a threat in space. It’s even more saddening to see Pence push this insanity while giving his continued lip service to Jesus. Wrapping his comments in false religiosity doesn’t cut it for those of us who are not blind.

The threat to Americans is from within, not imaginary boogeymen from the Middle East, Mexico or Mars. Consider this quote from a Republican:

"Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step over the

ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! -- All the armies of Europe, Asia

and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own

excepted) in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander,

could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the

Blue Ridge, in a trial of a Thousand years. At what point, then, is the

approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it

must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction

be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation

of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."

Abraham Lincoln

The “party of Lincoln” became “the party of evil” a few decades back when it decided to place corporations above people. Since then, people have become nothing to this party. ALL policy coming from them considers ONLY what the benefits will be to corporate America.

Not as long as god keeps creating it. Now whether the incompetency and self-serving objectives of Trump and his fellow Republicans qualifies as evil, is another question.

Anyone who understands the true character of the Lord knows for certain that God cannot create evil.

Your second sentence indicates that you may not actually know what Good is, let alone evil.

This has to put in perspective of the whole history of humanity. The evidence in a broader perspective that humans are fallible and potentially capable for both good and bad behavior in the extreme.

The Bible is a witness of the dark side of humanity are the unbelievably horrific acts by the Hebrews toward other tribes supposedly on orders from God.,

Isaiah 45:7 (KJV)
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

.
It is obvious from this reference God Created humans as fallible humans capable of both good and bad (evil), and not a specific 'force' of evil outside simply the nature of being human.

The concept of evil in the minds of ancient peoples is not translatable to the reality of the world beyond their own culture, though many believe ancient world views are meaningful today.

Not my god, I have none, but the Christian god. Might want to check out post 5..
I generally believe it when people say that. But then instead of asking why some Christians believe things you see as negative images of god, you talk like the image you have is real and your cherrypicked negative theology solid. I'd say you have formed a god to fight, like a windmill.

Yep. Welcome to Trumpland. He is close enough to the anti-Christ to be worried.

Peace

Believe me, in my eight years here at RF I've come to know very well why Christians believe the things they do.

you talk like the image you have is real and your cherrypicked negative theology solid.
Then my "cherry picking" is no worse than your turning a blind eye to disconcerting and embarrassing scripture.

I'd say you have formed a god to fight, like a windmill.
And I'd say you concoct a god to fit your theological needs. Like a comforting blanket on a cold winter's night.

I don't see much of a development in the 4 years I've seen your posts, so I don't know how much stock you place on those years of experience.

Ok? I don't find most scripture is worth paying any attention to. Add to that, I'm not even Christian so what would I need to turn my blind eye on?

And I'd say you concoct a god to fit your theological needs. Like a comforting blanket on a cold winter's night.
Well, I'm sure this holds true in your case.

My mistake. But you sure sound like one.

Ah, agnostics don't have theological needs. We're fence sitters waiting for all the evidence to come in, and have learned to face life for what it is.

The joke of this is you seem to think the Democrats are any different or that there is any difference between corporate America and the government.

There is a difference, but not an idealistic one. It is tRump who is wedding Corporate America to the US government.

You do have a theological need to have this kind of "easy opponent" from a simplified evil type of god.

No it's not... It's been this way since the 80s, if you think otherwise you're blind. Trump has nothing to do with that, it's been the case forever basically.

People working in government agencies that regulate companies that they worked for who they go back to working for happens all the time. We have a short little word for all that: bribes. Guess who works in the EPA? Most the people were people who previously worked at companies that generate pollution. Who works at the FDA? People who work in medical products. Guess what happens when they're done working at the FDA? They go back to those companies. This happens in every non-elected branch of the government.

Blaming Trump is just being completely deaf, dumb, and blind and all of a sudden proclaiming you're woke. No you're sleeping, and you're still asleep.

Evil is defined by the eye that beholds it. If you have a problem with it. Take it your bank. Just like the reich did. A wheelbarrow for a loaf. Sacrafice for your bretheran. Something is good in your life and just stick with it.lllllllllllllllllllllll

Probably a good thing its pretty much an electronic world now when it comes to economics. Don't have to invest in a wheelbarrow should something like that ever come to pass.
