Perhaps I didn't make myself clear........what I mean is, have you ever doubted the path you were on, have you ever thought "Hey, what if I am wrong ?"gnosis_777 said:There is not a doubt that what I believe is what I believe. I use religion as a tool to live a better life, not for the "hereafter" as many do.
Are you talking about my God or the entire body of doctrine attached to my religion?michel said:Just looking at the thread,"If your Religion turns out to be false", it suddenly occured to me that I saws one or two names that I would not have expected to see.
AQre there any of you 100% comfortable that your God is 'The one' - No doubt whatsoever ?

Over the years, I have come to feel 99.9% confident that my beliefs are true. There is always an element of doubt. But I'm also confident that it doesn't get much better than 99.9% for anybody!
A lot when I was younger, in fact, I went through a period of time which I thought the founder of my faith(Joseph Smith) was a fraud.michel said:Perhaps I didn't make myself clear........what I mean is, have you ever doubted the path you were on, have you ever thought "Hey, what if I am wrong ?"
Yes, there was a time when I doubted the path I was on. I wondered, "Hey, what if I am wrong ?"michel said:Perhaps I didn't make myself clear........what I mean is, have you ever doubted the path you were on, have you ever thought "Hey, what if I am wrong ?"
Me too. Sometimes I'll get way up to 99.9%, but other times I only feel like 80 or so. So no, I have never been 100% certain, but pretty darned close.Katzpur said:Are you talking about my God or the entire body of doctrine attached to my religion?

Not me. I am 100% sure my God is real and that He is not lying about the condition(s) of my salvation.Aqualung said:Me too. Sometimes I'll get way up to 99.9%, but other times I only feel like 80 or so. So no, I have never been 100% certain, but pretty darned close.
I have always been 100% certain that there was a God, and that I was worshiping him; the uncertainly comes from if I am worshipping him correctly.
As far as God is concerned, I'm also 100% certain that He exists. I just wasn't quite sure what Michel was asking in His OP. I've actually entertained the thought that there is no God, and no matter how hard I try, I can't convince myself. He's there. I know it.StewpidLoser said:Not me. That's the cool thing..... though He is "my" God ~ He's your's and everyone else who claims Him as wellnutshell said:I never say "my God" or "your God." We all have and worship the same God whether we understand that or not.
Oh, I'm 100% sure he wouldn't lie, either. I'm just not 100% sure that my interpretation of what others have written about what he wants of us (i.e. the Bible) is correct.StewpidLoser said:Not me. I am 100% sure my God is real and that He is not lying about the condition(s) of my salvation.
The doubts I have are of my own worthiness. Thankfully, because of the above, I can be 100% sure that He sees past my many shortcomings and forgives me for my failings and Loves me enough to want me to join Him in Eternity anyhow
