Is there still a sect of John the Baptist followers who never accepted Jesus?

History indicates that some of John the Baptist followers always stayed with John the Baptist and never converted to Christianity - believing that Christians were heretics vs the original, true gospel of John the Baptist.

Is that sect of John the Baptist in the Holy Land area still in existence today - 2005?

It would have been a neat trick for there to have been John the Baptist followers since John the Baptist was not like Jesus who got resurrected when he died. John the baptist got beheaded in prison by Herod at the request of Herod's daughter.

Also if you read the accounts of John the Baptist after Jesus was baptized by John, John told his followers to attend to Jesus' needs.

The accounts don't go on to say that John the Baptist performed any miracles like Jesus, the apostles and the other disciples did. However, the baptism of Jesus was in itself a miracle due to the fact that John's mother heard from God's angel that her son should be called John, etc.
