Is this election interference or not?

THIS is election interference:

“A Terrible Vulnerability”: Cybersecurity Researcher Discovers Yet Another Flaw in Georgia’s Voter Cancellation Portal

The flaw would have allowed anyone to submit a voter registration cancellation request for any Georgian using their name, date of birth and county of residence — information that is easily discoverable online.
As I said on the other thread about that, not that they will but either party could use it.
As it says, "any Georgian."

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
For the same reason that Harris Assasination does not autocomplete, references to Assasination are blocked and they had to rewrite the algorithm for the specific case.
At least that is what Google said and it makes sense. They did not actively omit it, it just wouldn't show up with any name. :(
But there was a Trump assassination attempt and there has not been a Harris assassination attempt.

Everything important is easily discoverable online unfortunately!

It's one thing to have discoverable information, it's quite another for a bad actor to use it to cancel someone else's voter registration without that voter's knowledge because a government website made it possible for the bad actor to do so.

Why did Google omit Trump assassination attempt from searches?
It didn't. It only omitted it from the autocomplete. All that means is that if you want to search for Trump assassination attempt you had to type "Trump assassination attempt". That is all.

If this was somehow done intentionally, I guess it could be considered interference. Pathetic, but interference. But I am not convinced it was intentional.

Its back to normal now. Type 'Trump as' and autocomplete does the rest.

That's what I like about you. You look at the thing as a whole and you are honest about it.

My understanding from what I've read is it was a general block on the word that had to be removed to pass the results to the autocomplete, they may have been slow but it worked if you typed what you want which is still better than Grok giving out misinformation and not being corrected.

Google sesrch is crap and it's biased.
"Google’s results were surprisingly non-partisan (61%) for key political topics. It’s not perfect, and the results lean left, but it’s likely not because Google’s algorithms are biased."

Because it's a left wing biased search engine. I don't even use Google anymore for my searches not that the search results are anywhere near accurate and useful.

I use Duck Duck Go.
Because it's a data-mining giant (and therefore too far right for me). I don't even use Google any more for my searches, not that the search results are anywhere near accurate and useful.

I've used DuckDuckGo for years, for the same reason as you. The only exception for image searches where I'm looking for the original source to find out (hopefully) if an image is fake or altered. If you know of a way to do that with DuckDuckGo, please let me know.

Election interference or not?
How long and far will it be played?

Google autocomplete results around Trump lead to claims of election interference

Google Admits to Omitting Trump Assassination Attempt from Search Autocomplete Feature
August 5, 2024 7:18 PM

No? Seems like it was some auto filter that stopped political violence searches from auto populating and it was fixed soon as it was brought up. And then they said something about "President Trump" itself not autofilling and google went "Oh? Thats weird. Well it looks it that is broken for litterally all presidents. Including Obama, Biden and the like. We'll fix that too."

It didn't filter results of any kind it just didn't autofill the suggestion section in the search box.
