What about the social sciences?
Good question. Most sources I've come across seem to consider them a part of the humanities, although I think there's no universal agreement on what category they fall under.
My degree is in Anthropology.
"Anthropology is both the most scientific of the humanities and the most humanistic of the sciences." - Eric Wolf (1964). Anthropology uses the tools of the natural sciences and the tools of the humanities in order to understand all aspects of human life.
The fact is after I got my degree in Anthropology I went out and got a job in computer repair.

Still I think the degree was valuable to me, just not financially.

My first boss in IT in State government had a PhD in Geology.... from Harvard... he was a computer programmer for the state
