Islam and Pluralism

"Religious pluralism is particularly prized in Indonesia, where the influences of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Christianity have wafted across its 17,000-plus islands for centuries. Why did God create the world? According to the principal of an Islamic school I spoke with, because God prefers multiplicity to unity—because “difference is good.” Repeatedly, I was reminded that Muslims reject religious coercion—“There is no compulsion in religion” (2:256, Pickthal)—and that their “people of the book” category includes not only Jews and Christians but also Hindus and Buddhists."

What are your thoughts on this in regards to Islam @Link ?

I think pluralism and multiplicity is a blessing. Apparently Allah may think the same.

At least Allah creates all, including pluralism and multiplicity. Not a blade of grass moves without God's Will

I thought Link would say least make an appearance. Or that more would have found this engaging.

It's an angle I e never heard of from Islam and I find it a refreshing viewpoint.

Salam

I'm sorry for not having responded earlier. Three threads that might help:

Religious pluralism. | Religious Forums

Non-haters will enter paradise. | Religious Forums

Neither believers nor disbelievers nor between but different trial(s). | Religious Forums

And divisions are a curse but a blessing as well, if you go with the slogan "the people were a cure and now they've become the disease" approach I've talked about before.

I will elaborate more, but first let me know what you think about those three threads and religious pluralism.
