Islam...Christianity

arthra

So does Islam in the history of Mohammed similar to what the Christians over the centuries have. ?

What could be similar would be carrying a message of "Good News" to people... Years ago I was impressed by the film "The Message" 1976 directed by Mustapha Akkad.. It certainly represented well the fervor of spreading the "Gospel"... Mustapha Akkad was a Syrian American and he and his daughter were sadly slain in what came to be known as the Amman bombings in 2005. How he was able to develop the film is in itself a fascinating story...

Peace be upon you.
So does Islam in the history of Mohammed similar to what the Christians over the centuries have. ?

Peace be on you. The answer to this question has various aspects; some according to Ahmadiyya-Muslim view are:

PART 1
1== The basic religion evolved through all times:
Quran
[ch 42:v14]
He has prescribed for you the religion which He enjoined on Noah, and which We have revealed to thee, and which We enjoined on Abraham and Moses and Jesus, saying, ‘Remain steadfast in obedience, and be not divided therein. Hard upon the idolaters is that to which thou callest them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He pleases, and guides to Himself him who turns to Him.’

2==The core message had been same: Unity of God and human rights.
[21:26] And We sent no Messenger before thee but We revealed to him, saying, ‘There is no God but I; so worship Me alone.’
[7:36] O children of Adam! if Messengers come to you from among yourselves, rehearsing My Signs unto you, then whoso shall fear God and do good deeds, on them shall come no fear nor shall they grieve.

3==The message completed in its entirety at Hazrat Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) :
[5:4] ....................This day have I perfected your religion for you and completed My favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as religion...................................

It is Exclusively Universal Message:
[21:108] And We have sent thee not but as a mercy for all peoples.
As God presented in Islam is Universal:
[1:2] All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds / people.

[7:159] Say, ‘O mankind! truly I am a Messenger to you all from Allah to Whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. There is no God but He. He gives life, and He causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the Prophet, the Immaculate one, who believes in Allah and His words; and follow him that you may be rightly guided.’

4==In the time of latter-day-grand-weakness-in-practice, a servant of Holy Prophet (pbuh) was promised and has come as Promised-Messiah-Mahdi [exclusive Ahmadiyya-Muslim understanding]

a-----The Companion Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

One day we were sitting with Holy Prophet when Surah Jumua was revealed. I inquired from the Holy Prophet, Who are the people to whom the words, "And among others who have not yet joined them" Salman, the Persian was sitting among us. Upon my repeated asking him the same question the Holy Prophet put his hand on Salman and said;If faith were to go up to the Pleiades, a man from these would surely find it. [Ref: Book of Hadith, Bukhari]

b----The verse which this hadith talks is among these 2 verses:
[62:3] He it is Who has raised among the Unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves who recites unto them His Signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom, although they had been, before, in manifest misguidance;
[62:4] And among others from among them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise.

c----Khilafat: Two phases of Khilafat were prophesied too:
i- “Prophethood will remain among you as long as Allah wills. Then Allah, the Exalted will take it away.”

ii- “Then Khilafat on the lines of Prophethood shall commence as long as Allah wills. Then Allah, the Exalted will take away this.”

iii-“Then tyrannical monarchy would be established, it will be there as long as Allah wills. Then Allah, the Exalted will take it away.”

iv- “Then despotic kingship would emerge. It will stay as long as Allah wills. Then Allah, the Exalted will take it away.”

v-“Then (again), Khilafat on the precept of Prophethood shall be established. Then he became silent.”

[Narrated by Hudhaifah (r.a), Musnad Ahmad, Mishkaat]

Part i are first 4 Khulafa / Successors of Muhammad (pbuh)
Part ii is of Khilafat of Servant of Muhammad (pbuh)......[This servant was Promised Messiah Mahdi a.s.]

Gist: Islam in broader sense began from start of early guidance, and continued to grow, Prophets continued to come [including Jesus, on whom be peace] but all were for local people; none claimed for all world except Muhammad (pbuh) who exclusively claimed for all people. The blessings of Islam uniquely continues till today [more in www.alislam.org -- Ahmadiyya-Muslim resource]

History of general Islam is history of revealed religion in general till today.
History of early specific Islam is history of Muhammad (pbuh), his family, Companions and after him, his four Righteous Khulafa.
History of political effects of Islamic countries is history of early dynasties / current Muslim countries.
History of Islamic messages's preservation and spread is history of Mujaddeydeen [Darvesh-reformers at various places]
History of modern promised renaissance of Islam is history of Ahmadiyya-Muslims.

========================================================================
PART 2
The history of Christianity consists of era:
Coming of Christ
His interaction with nation
He on cross
His survival and migration to Iran, Afghanistan and Kashmir areas through certain route and gain of success.

(He (Allah) has ordained for you
the same religion which He ordained for Nuh, and that which We have revealed to you,) Allah mentions the first Messenger who was sent after Adam, that is, Nuh, peace be upon them, and the last of them is Muhammad . Then He mentions those who came in between them who were the Messengers of strong will, namely Ibrahim, Musa and `Isa bin Maryam. This Ayah mentions all five, just as they are also mentioned in the Ayah in Surat Al-Ahzab, where Allah says:

﴿وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنْكَ وَمِن نُّوحٍ وَإِبْرَهِيمَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ﴾

(And (remember) when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you, and from Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, and `Isa son of Maryam.) (33:7). The Message which all the Messengers brought was to worship Allah Alone, with no partner or associate, as Allah says:

﴿وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ نُوحِى إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لا إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ أَنَاْ فَاعْبُدُونِ ﴾

(And We did not send any Messenger before you but We revealed to him (saying): None has the right to be worshipped but I, so worship Me.) (21:25).

And according to a Hadith (the Prophet said):«نَحْنُ مَعْشَرَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ أَوْلَادُ عَلَّاتٍ، دِينُنَا وَاحِد»

(We Prophets are brothers and our religion is one.) In other words, the common bond between them is that Allah Alone is to be worshipped, with no partner or associate, even though their laws and ways may differ, as Allah says.

(To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way) (5:48). Allah says here:

(saying you should establish religion and make no divisions in it.) meaning, Allah enjoined all the Prophets (peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all) to be as one and He forbade them to differ and be divided.

(Intolerable for the idolators is that to which you call them.) means, `it is too much for them to bear, and they hate that to which you call them, O Muhammad, i.e., Tawhid.

'﴿اللَّهُ يَجْتَبِى إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ﴾

(Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance.) means, He is the One Who decrees guidance for those who deserve it, and decrees misguidance for those who prefer it to the right path. Allah says here;

(And they divided not till after knowledge had come to them,) means, their opposition to the truth arose after it had come to them and proof had been established against them. Nothing made them resist in this manner except their transgression and stubbornness.

(And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord for an appointed term,) means, were it not for the fact that Allah had already decreed that He would delay the reckoning of His servants until the Day of Resurrection, the punishment would have been hastened for them in this world.

(And verily, those who were made to inherit the Scripture after them,) means, the later generation which came after the earlier generation which had rejected the truth.

(are in grave doubt concerning it. ) means, they do not have any firm conviction in matters of religion; they merely imitate their forefathers, without any evidence or proof. So they are very confused and doubtful.

(15. So unto this then invite (people), and stand firm as you are commanded, and follow not their desires but say: "I believe in whatsoever Allah has sent down of the Book and I am commanded to do justice among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us our deeds and for you your deeds. There is no dispute between us and you. Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return.'')

Muhammad's history is kept safer than Jesus.
The earliest gospel came about 4 decades later; but Muhammad's history was kept from first days.
