On 28 March 2023, the Islamic Sultanate of Qarsherskiy declared independence from the United States of America due to local police and US government failure to protect Muslims and other religious minorities from hate crimes and a police officer killing Muslims because they didn't like his wife calling them terrorists at a Newport News bar. Qarsherskiy has 400-500 years or history dating back to the first African American enslaved people brought to nearby Fort Monroe to work the slave plantations. Many African Americans still practiced Islam in secrecy despite being beaten and whipped and forced to convert to Christianity. After slavery was made illegal, some openly professed Islam while others joined the so-called Nation of Islam nearby where it was founded in Southeastern Virginia. Other generations, the few mixed race American Muslims that remained developed into what we now call Ethnic Qarsherskiyan people. Mostly concentrated in Madison County, Ohio and the Southern Shore of Lake Erie between Cedar Point and Lorain as well as in the mountains just South of the Maryland-West Virginia border and on the Virginia Peninsula and surrounding areas of the Chesapeake Bay region to Virginia Beach; ethnic Qarsherskiyan people are found across Eastern North America. The regions of Ohio, West Virginia, and Virginia where they are found is often called Greater Qarcer. Over time, many ethnic Qarsherskiyans became only culturally Muslim but followed other religions like Christianity and Judaism and Zoroastrianism. The areas where more conservative ethnic Qarsherskiyan people remained Muslim more in Northern Newport News and Yorktown Virginia is where originally in March of 2023 about 1.3k people joined the Qarsherskiyan independence movement. Originally, there were under 1.5k people who wanted independence in the area of Qarsherskiy but by September 2023 numbers reached 2,485 people. The Islamic Sultanate of Qarsherskiy started out with originally with a Sufi Sunni Muslim government but in late Summer of 2023 months later the sultan removed Sufis and Alawites from government at the time and almost turned Qarsherskiy's government Wahhabi and oppressed people but his citizens complained and he debated with them, eventually being convinced to become an Ismaili Muslim and a few weeks later a Zaydi Muslim after the sultan decided Ismaili Islam was "heretical and corrupt" and not for him. Ever since then, the sultan of Qarsherskiy has tolerated people of many faiths but under the current Zaydi Islamic regime, the Islamic Sultanate of Qarsherskiy is accused of oppressing and mistreating Satanists. American Satanists who live near the Qarsherskiyan border have declared themselves to be American citizens and burned their Qarsherskiyan passports, claiming Qarsherskiy violates rights to freedom of religion and violently persecutes Satanists with firework attacks and psychological torture. The Islamic Sultanate of Qarsherskiy is a Zaydi Islamic microstate not recognized as being independent by any country. Qarsherskiy is very controversial due to extreme aggression towards those claiming to be Satanic.
