Then we are all insane. God always talks to us. It's Just that mostly we don't hear.

I had Karma to spread to Terry...so Frubals!!:D

I think the problem occurs when people claim God told them to do something that is contrary to God's instructions for our lives in the Bible.

I completely see what orichalcum is saying. I think it's pretty odd, too. That doesn't negate what Terry said, however, if you look carefully.

What's also funny is how if someone today were to start a religion, they would be rediculed and be under constant skepticism from the media, people, and the scientific community. People would question, the media would inflame, and the scientists would try to disprove them. Why? Because it sounds too rediculous and farfetched. Yet this could've happened thousands of years ago without the redicule or skepticism that today's society would generate, making it successful and accepted.

Yeah I always liked that, Its kind of a huge loophole in all of the normal rules humans have for reality. There was a really good episode of the Simpsons that poked fun at that issue. Since I believe that TV is going to become the new classical literature (For better or for worse), I'll quote it right here as if it were some fancy parable:

Marge was at a hearing to determine if she was legally insane, and she started praying to God for help. The Judge looked over and said, "What are you doing?"

Marge answered, "I'm praying to God that you'll find me sane."

The Judge, skeptically asked, "I see. And this "God" person, is he in this room with us right now?"

To which Marge, the good Christian replied, "Oh yes. He's...kind of...everywhere."

Everyone in the courtroom murmured in a shocked manner and the Judge banged his gavel saying, "Marge, this court has no choice but to find you legally insane!"

Frubals to both Terry and CX. There are some people who, when they say God talks to them, are believable because God's love shines so obviously through them. Then there are others who are billboards for intolerance and hate and it's very hard to believe that they're hearing the voice of God.
