Israel-Gaza : Air strike kills World Central Kitchen heroes

The USA needs to end all aid to Israel immediately.

Frankly I have no trust in Netanyahu. Their intentions seems to be starving Palestinians.

If Israel had any decency and was afraid of Hamas stealing aid then they should escort the food aid.

I doubt very much it was intentional, but the tight conditions within the area in the south makes it conducive to these mistakes happening. There are no drawn battle lines.

Where I am very disappointed is that the IDF, imo, should be using less bombs and artillery and more house-to-house fighting even though that ups the casualty rate for the IDF.
I still think they'd be pleasantly surprised if they were to offer aid directly with the Palestinians and worked with them to bring down Hamas. People do, after all, tend to be more cooperative to those perceived to be helping their situation rather than adding to their problems.

That is absolutely true, which is why an abundance of caution should be demanded and an abundance of jingoism eschewed.
We shouldn't ignore WCK informing Israel of its
movements & locations. And that an apparent
smart bomb landed on the roof of a car with the
WCF logo. This doesn't look look accidental.
And it comports with the possibility that Israel
wants aid to be denied to starving Palestinians.

WCK is showing an abundance of caution by
ending its operations to deliver food, lest
Israel kill (assassinate) more of them.

Israel appears determined to enhance enmity.
A theocracy with God on its side that sees war
as the only path to peace is very dangerous.
Who needs enemies with Israel as an ally, eh.

And Israel is ramping up its propagandistic
approach to news by eliminating all but
compliant sources.
Excerpted....
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday vowed to shut down Al Jazeera’s operations in Israel, calling it a “terror channel” that spreads incitement, after the parliament passed a law clearing the way for the closure.

Netanyahu’s pledge escalated Israel’s long-running feud against Al Jazeera but also threatened to heighten tensions with Qatar, which owns the channel, at a time when the government there is playing a key role in mediation efforts to halt the war in Gaza. Neither the Qatari government nor the broadcaster immediately commented.

It makes it seem being a net taker from Uncle Sam than giver and living on the dole is a morally acceptable path in life to avoid contributing to such things.

WCK apprises Israel of their movements, complete
with coordinates. Their vehicles are identified with
with clear markings.
Accident?
Another possibility is that it's intentional. Israel
has been preventing aid to the people it's starving
to death. Israel, or at least some of its soldiers,
could view WKC as the enemy preventing Jewish
takeover of Gaza.
Israel believes that the UN is anti-Israel, & even
in cahoots with Hamas. Israel kills UN workers.
Why not this group too, eh.
Don't worry. Israel is investigating itself.
I hate to say it, I really do, but I'm beginning to think there is real malevolence on the part of Israel. I think the very hard-right coalition that was forced on Netanyahu has actually decided that there will be no need of a two-state solution if there are no Palestinians -- and we know the word that describes that goal. Bibi can say what he likes, but it's time to judge Israel's actions, not it's excuses and rhetoric.

I'm ready to say it is probably time to cut aid to Israel until it rejoins the world of decency.

Even if it never becomes a decent country,
at least we shouldn't be enabling its evil.
I'd rather avoid WW3 than defend it.

You've joined the "Starve the beast" crowd?
Alas, your & my sloth aren't doing the job.
Genocide Joe & Congress still have ample
resources to continue mass killing &
oppression of Muslims.

Still, I'm focusing more on keeping expenses
down in order to earn less, eg, investing in
solar panels to save money, rather than
investing that creates taxable income.
It's legal, & it lessens my tax burden.

They died helping their fellow humans. May their memory be a blessing, and a rebuke. José Andrés should've won the Nobel Peace Prize by now. His work, and the work of all his teams, on behalf of people in dire need all over the world (whether man-inflicted or nature-inflicted) is awe-inspiring and humbling.
I agree with the sentiment that you're expressing here. That being said, I want to say that personally I have no desire to put any stock in the Nobel Prizes today, since they're now just bribes & they're being used for propaganda purposes.

Yeah....a smart bomb just happened to hit a well
marked car whose position was known to Israel,
thereby ending WCK's food delivery to starving
Palestinians. Just a random accident.
I made a mistake.
I didn't account for Israel destroying three
cars, not just one. And they were separated
by over a mile....& hit repeatedly. This was
no error. Israel assassinated the aid workers.
Excerpted (pay wall)....

The convoy of three vehicles had just left a food warehouse.

The World Central Kitchen staff members were leaving a warehouse in Deir al Balah, a city in the central Gaza Strip, when their convoy — two armored cars and a third vehicle — came under fire late Monday, the organization said in a statement.

The Israeli military had been informed of the aid workers’ movements, the charity said. Aid workers had just unloaded more than 100 tons of food brought to Gaza by sea at the warehouse, according to the group.

Videos and photos verified by The New York Times suggest the convoy was hit multiple times. The imagery shows three destroyed white vehicles, with the northernmost and southernmost vehicles nearly a mile and a half apart.

The World Central Kitchen logo could be seen on items inside the charred interiors of the northernmost and southernmost cars. The car in the middle was left with a gaping hole in its roof, which was clearly marked with the group’s logo. All three vehicles, though far apart from each other, were on or near the Al-Rashid coastal road.

Israel owned up to the mistake. Unlike the US under Biden when we killed 10 innocent family members in Afghanistan including an aid worker. It took the US weeks to admit it was a mistake.

Bad things happen in war, that is why we should try to prevent future ones. Israel is trying to do that by eliminating the terrorists organization that will certainly kill again if given the chance.

I'd say some heads will roll then.
It seems heads ought to roll. That's one thing, but we'll see if heads do roll.

Have any heads rolled, yet, for the "accidental" bombing of hospitals full of patients and medical staff in Gaza? I'm not just referring to a couple of hospitals with tunnels; almost every hospital in Gaza has been attacked.

Did any heads roll for the "accidental" slaughter of Rachel Corrie? As far as I know, the answer is no.

Did any heads roll for the "accidental" attack on the USS Liberty? As far as I know, the answer is no.

At this point, I don't think any of these incidents were accidents. In the normal world, someone can still be held liable even for accidents. When no one is ever held responsible for "accidents", there's actually something different going on.

The US government - my own government - is being complicit with this terrible behavior, including by not raiding (or at least imposing sanctions on) Israel for their refusal to return Samuel Sheinbein to the US to face murder charges; this is unacceptable.

If true (I just don't trust NY Times), then this really blows my mind! :confounded:

It means that anyone who isn't highly suspicious that these attacks were intentional - blatantly, impudently, grotesquely deliberate, is either in total denial, or just stupid beyond reason.

Only because lying that it was a mistake is more
palatable to Israel's allies. To admit to assassination
of people working for a USA based aid organization
would jeopardize the US money & bomb pipeline.
Hmmmm - I can't help but wonder if even admitting to assassinating (or something to that effect) them would be effective in putting a stop to the US money & bomb pipeline, sadly.

Biden still speaks with forked tongue.
Excerpted....
"Incidents like yesterday's simply should not happen. Israel has also not done enough to protect civilians," Biden said in a statement.

The problem is Israel's not doing enuf to protect them?
Hey Joe!
Israel is the one who killed them. And it was no accident,
given that 3 separate vehicles over a mile apart were
attacked. And Israel had full knowledge in advance of
their movement & coordinates.
Biden still has taken no action to curb the genocide &
assassinations. He still sends money & bombs to kill
Palestinians, & now people from USA, England, & other
western countries.

There are many other sources.
But NYT has traditionally been pro-Israel,
& anti-Palestinian. So this reporting must
go against their bias, suggesting cromulence.

Israel's sacred position among Christians in power
has been unshakable, no matter what evil Israel
perpetrates. But it would be reasonable for them
to fear lessened power if they go too far.
Genocide by murder & starvation of tens of thousands
of Gazan Muslims is one thing. But half a dozen white
westerners....big risk.
