Israel-Gaza : "Netanyahu vows no Palestinian state ..."

From the Times of Israel:

During a combative press conference Thursday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the prospect of Palestinian statehood after the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, and vowed to resist the United States on the matter.
He also denied blindsiding his defense minister over a deal to send medicines into Gaza for Israeli hostages, accused Israeli media of spreading pessimism about the progress of the war, and said Hamas and Iran were hoping to see his government fall and elections held mid-war.
On the issue of Palestinian sovereignty, Netanyahu was speaking after a report on Wednesday that the Biden administration is looking past the premier to advance a two-state solution, and hours after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Israel cannot achieve “genuine security” without a pathway to a Palestinian state.

The U.S. and the Israeli people must stop this man.

As someone who isn't at all informed on Israel's electoral affairs I find the fact that he holds these views unsurprising, but to hear him share them out loud and in protest of the US is shocking.

I listened to Netanyahu say that Israel must have control over security over everywhere to the west of the Jordan -- and that denies Palestine their own sovereignty should a way be found to a two-state solution.

And without sovereignty, you don't have a state. And that cannot be right. So I agree with you -- it's time Bibi and his rabid-right coalition are stopped.

It does seem that the state-hood issue will be settled .. one way or the other at the end of this conflict. The US reigning in its out of control rabid proxy is not going to be easy nor pretty .. but has to be done .... things already spiraling out of hand .. in a way that is increadibly damaging to the image of US hegemony .. a Military -- Emperor Has no Clothes Moment. The Houthi's .. declaring their own form of sanctions .. and US eating what it has been feeding everyone else ... resorting to the economic nuclear option .. Trump with Iran .. Biden with Russia/Ukraine war .. a sign of weakness not strength .. some chickens now coming home to roost .. Do as we say . not as we do foreign policy ,, no more .. now they doing as we do .. and we don't like it.

Sadly, Trump will use any resistance to Netanyahu's extremeness by the Biden Admin as an excuse to say Biden "doesn't support Israel" or supports Hamas or whatever other absurd nonsense to gin up his supporters.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Way overly broad brush. I'll bet that the majority just want to be left in peace.

But it seems clear that the horror will continue and continue and continue.
Well both Trump and Netanyahu put forward a positive two state solution that was even better than what Clinton had put (aka the Clinton Parameters) to Arafat over twenty years ago.

The answer was still no in both instances.

Why people blame Netanyahu now is absolutely mind boggling. It's not like he hadn't genuinely tried before.

A third time is arguably pointless just like the last two times.

USA will not stop him.
He has unconditional support of nearly all in both parties.
As we've seen any who stand against Israel's genocide
are censured.
The only outside pressure on Israel is from the likes of
S Africa & China. But if things escalate, pressure would
come from Iran & who knows who else, with motives
either pro Palestinian, anti Israel, anti USA, or pro Iran,

The US is already providing some security and is asking him to stop. We cannot do it, but we could ask another country to take over security of Gaza. I could see this being very good both for Israel and USA.

I wonder if S. Africa would be willing to step up and take over security there?

No good deed goes unpunished.
They raised their hand. Besides this could be very good for S. Africa. Doing a good deed can be very good for a country. I realize that nobody is going to take my idea and run with it though. I'm just brainstorming.

If not S. Africa we could ask Japan. Japan would do an excellent job if they were willing to step in. This would
be such a huge favor. I don't know if Japan would forgive us for asking. It would work though.

If USA flooded a Palestinian state with money,
diplomatic support, & military protection, that
would be the best thing for both Palestinians
&Israel. Of course, it would never happen.
USA will continue supporting oppression
of Muslims.
