Israel-Gaza : "Netanyahu vows no Palestinian state ..."

I listened to Netanyahu say that Israel must have control over security over everywhere to the west of the Jordan -- and that denies Palestine their own sovereignty should a way be found to a two-state solution.

And without sovereignty, you don't have a state. And that cannot be right. So I agree with you -- it's time Bibi and his rabid-right coalition are stopped.
I wish I could detect something credible from the Israeli government recognising their obligations towards the civilian population and describing how they intend to take care of them in the future if they are not to have their own state.

I am frightened that what we are seeing is ethnic cleansing. The whole of Gaza seems, from what I have read, to be being reduced to rubble and the population shoved up against the border with Egypt, destitute, in the hope the Egyptians will take pity and accept all 2 million of them as refugees.

If USA flooded a Palestinian state with money,
diplomatic support, & military protection, that
would be the best thing for both Palestinians
&Israel. Of course, it would never happen.
USA will continue supporting oppression
of Muslims.
If we cut out the middle-man (UN) the money might actually help the people. The problem is you'd need someone to be the governor, like MacArthur was in Japan. It would have to be a rare individual willing to live there and iron willed, absolutely impervious to graft. To start with how do we locate such an individual?

Individual countries are typically more troubling
than the UN. MacArthur was USA's man.
You trust USA to run Palestine? USA is Israel's
primary ally in violent apartheid & war crimes.
I don't see the anti-Muslim Christian stranglehold
on the federal government ebbing anytime soon.

Palestinians don't want a two state solution.

They never did then, they certainly don't want it now.
You are correct! Palestinians walked away from the 2-state solution a number of times because in truth they don't really want it! They pretend to want it right up to signing day!! They rely on the soft naïveté of frightened Leftist for support! If they really wanted peace then they wouldn't have raped and murdered 1400+ men, women, children! Taken grandmothers in wheelchairs hostage!

Sadly, Trump will use any resistance to Netanyahu's extremeness by the Biden Admin as an excuse to say Biden "doesn't support Israel" or supports Hamas or whatever other absurd nonsense to gin up his supporters.
Sadly, that's the least of my concern.

More accurately, that was not "Palestinians," it was Hamas, a much smaller group made up of rabid Palestinians. I do not take all Palestinians to be of the same sort.

Israel has actually long intended that Palestinians
remain poor. That, & the apartheid, torture, &
denial of legal rights is a recipe for violent response.
Lo! Israel gets consequences that it directly caused.

Why? Israel intends to evict any Palestinians still
alive from Gaza, so that Israel can expand into it.

I think most people understand that there are more moderate elements among the Palestinians. Only they can reign the more radical elements in!

The Israelis are Palestinians. Their distant Muslim cousins hate them. Arab Jews, Arab Christians, Arab Druze, Arab Muslims and Jews all live together in the state of Israel. They prosper and enjoy the benefits of the State. How you buy into the propaganda is just amazing!

From the Times of Israel:

During a combative press conference Thursday evening, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the prospect of Palestinian statehood after the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, and vowed to resist the United States on the matter.
He also denied blindsiding his defense minister over a deal to send medicines into Gaza for Israeli hostages, accused Israeli media of spreading pessimism about the progress of the war, and said Hamas and Iran were hoping to see his government fall and elections held mid-war.
On the issue of Palestinian sovereignty, Netanyahu was speaking after a report on Wednesday that the Biden administration is looking past the premier to advance a two-state solution, and hours after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Israel cannot achieve “genuine security” without a pathway to a Palestinian state.

The U.S. and the Israeli people must stop this man.
Well, let's see what's happened with previous attempts to set up Palestinian states:

1. Arafat helped plan terror attacks.
2. Abbas pays terrorists and their families for commiting terror attacks and cheered the October 7 massacre.
3. When Israel withdrew from Gaza, effectively making it into a Palestinian state, it was quickly taken over by Hamas, which, is we all know brought us to where we are now.

Why anyone would still support a free-rein Palestinian state is mind-boggling.

I think the Israeli's will likely do this themselves as he is highly unpopular there.

I can see the merit of distinguishing Israel from the current government, as well as Palestinians from Hamas.

Unfortunately, that is not a lot of help. There is still the need to make decisions and deal with the reality of facts.

If Hamas does not represent Palestinians yet the Palestinians can't effectively make themselves curb or repudiate Hamas nor present some alternate representative, it becomes difficult to understand how a Palestinian State would be possible and advisable.
