The weekly marches, which are backed by Hamas, the terror group that rules Gaza, were originally described by their Palestinian organizers as nonviolent, but Hamas, which seeks to destroy Israel, publicly supported the protests and declared that their ultimate goal was to erase the border and liberate Palestine.
It does sound like that. I think the question is to what extent did Hamas do so.Sounds like the marches were organized by a non-Hamas group of activists and then perhaps co-opted by Hamas.
...they had their chance to be good neighbors...
Honestly, if you were Palestinian, why wouldn't you want to destroy Israel after how terribly Israel had treated Palestinians, The Zionists have some nerve, they invade a region, and then oppress the natives, and claim they have a right to be there and the natives do not, its sheer lunacy on the Zionists part, they do not deserve a country, they had their chance to be good neighbors and they blew it, big time. If they do not reform their behaviour to the natives, they may well lose the country they know today. That's how karma works.
But it's so much easier to handwave atrocities against civilians when you just dub them members of an evil sub-human terrorist group (no evidence required). How many actual protesters were Hamas? Not that many I suspect.
And here is the crux of the difficulty discussing any international issue with Americans. Whatever the issue, you guys always shoehorn it into a good guys vs. bad guys paradigm, no matter how misleading such a view is.It's all very one-sided for you, is it? Good Guys vs. Bad Guys. Do you find viewing the world that way helpful?
Both sides stink like ****.
(someone had to say it)

Perhaps Hamas should end it's unilateral declaration of war against Israel?
What should Israel do? What would be the morally correct action?
We could also edit the OP title from
Israeli forces kill dozens of Palestinians in Gaza 'massacre'
to
Israeli Forces kill dozens of Hamas operatives Attacking Israeli position
Would that help?
Tom
Bad photoshop is bad
Those darn Buddhists again.
Uh-huh. Well, they've been tangentially associated with a swastika flag, I guess that means shooting civilians is OK.Just like this

*wonders what happened to the "good people on both sides" rhetoric*
