It is strange, being right while everyone else is wrong.

Isn't it strange, being the only person on the thread who is right? Who knows the truth?

All these other posters, they are so blind! I try to inform them of their flawed ways and beliefs. Alas, it is like talking to a wall.

My religious and political beliefs (or lack thereof) is fact! What don't they understand?

It is a strange sensation, being in mental leagues above everyone else. Sure, they might be smarter than me when it comes to their college major, but when it comes to discerning the truth behind reality, no one even comes close.

Ahh, they should just shut up and listen. I'm trying to help them. Yes, that's why I yap I mean teach on and on. I don't do it for a sense of self satisfaction, no siree.

I am wise. They are fools.

Isn't it a strange sensation, being the only correct person on each and every thread?

I'm only being partly sarcastic with this OP.

I know I am not correct in all my beliefs but at the same time I know I am. And it is strange. And I see plenty of other posters who I assume must feel they are absolutely correct. I wonder if they feel the same strange sensation that I do, a certain sense of superiority. Or perhaps pity for others.

It may also be a symptom of partial ego-delusion isn't it?
Usually the mark of wisdom is humility and realization that one knows very little in truth? The obverse is a usually a mark of unwisdom.

Being right is only worth something if you can show to be right. When you can reduce your assertion to basic axioms and show that your assertion follows from correct logic you can convince every rational person. If you can't - maybe you aren't right.

The whole ‘I’m right, I alone know the truth, my group alone has the truth’ is strange to me.

I wonder if they feel the same strange sensation that I do, a certain sense of superiority. Or perhaps pity for others.

I feel pity for many on RF because they know the truth whereas I certainly don’t know it. :p

I would agree that believing you are the only person correct in the thread is strange. This is not why people post confidently. Some people enter threads stating their views looking for conformation or likes. Others want to get their views out to others. If you aren't confident in this approach, you won't be able to achieve what you wish to accomplish so they try to be overly confident when they probably aren't. If you posted anything in an uncertain format it would mostly be ignored. Even this OP reeks of confidence abet in a sarcastic way. Are you really asking a question or making a confident statement about others on the site?

I'm hopefully "right" for me, right now. Everyone else? Meh.

Humans aren’t consistently rational though.

So in the above case, you can influence some of the people trying to take a rational approach, especially those without an emotional attachment to another position.

People trying to be rational, but who are attached to other positions will generally use their powers of reason to resolve their cognitive dissonance by finding ways to protect their initial belief.

People are driven far more by emotion than reason in situations involving both.

It's not me that's right, it's my opinions and beliefs that are right

If I didn't think they were right I would not hold them

And they have always been subject to change!
