That's a mother wolf spider carrying her babies on her back. The babies know they must stay with their mom until they are old enough to fend for themselves. I think it's precious!

The spider is the most feared of All Creatures. They used to be my number one phobia but now I absolutely love them. I have a passion for getting people to hold my trantulas and overcome their fear.

It was only by facing my fear I fell in love with my fear. I would encourage everyone to face Their Fear of spiders and hold a spider.

The spider also represents the female gender, feminine energy, and girl power!

I've been having nightmares of spiders since your last thread. Now you've provided my mind with more nightmares.

Um... don't female spiders kill the males immediately after mating? Not a creature I care too much for...;)

They also cannibalize them... Though sometimes if the man makes All the Right Moves the female let's him Escape.

The females get a lot bigger too.

Because the male has such a high probability of dying during mating, when a pet shop realizes the sex of a spider, the price that they sell it for goes down 75% when they realize it's a male.

That's how I was able to afford my pink salmon birdeater goliath tarantula, the second largest spider in the world.

You're braver than me. I avoid spiders, scorpions and snakes whenever possible. I like small spiders in my house because they eat bugs. I hate bugs more than spiders.

Yes I hate it when people kill spiders. Because by killing spiders they're giving permission for there to be that many more bugs

As of late I really don't try to kill any creature that God made. I don't know, I guess I figure that if God made it live maybe it deserves to live. And who am I to kill?

God gave us spiders to keep the pests away... They are the best and safest insecticides. Spiders are our friends.... Never kill a spider!!!! EVER!

Sometimes. I have successfully paired several tarantulas native to my area of Oklahoma. Aphonapelma Hentzi. So far the male has done his thing and went his way. Very quickly though. I think he realized he could be lunch. The male tarantula doesn't live long past maturity, where the females can live up to 30 years. BTW. Great video Pope. :)

Yes! I have said the same thing. God put them here for a reason. If something gives me the creeps I just avoid it. We shouldn't kill something just because it's scary looking. Imagine how we must look to the spider.

I do not think spiders suffer or feel fear. They also walk out in front of me without considering what I might do.

I was bitten by a nasty spider as a child. It was probably a hobo spider, as it created one of those nasty neuro-toxic wounds. At first it tingled, then it began to sting. Then it turned into a painful swollen hard lump with two green channels down into the lump, and I had to dig out some kind of necrotic tissue. Then it slowly, slowly healed. It left a permanent scar on my hand. The worst part was that I didn't get any super powers.

Hey, that's sexual discrimination! ;)

Those Hobo spiders are nasty. Down here we have the Brown recluse. Same bite symptoms as the hobo spider but at least they are shy and not aggressive. The hobo spider has a nasty temper to go along with the bite. Hope they dont migrate this far south.
