Ok, I know no one else will really care about this, nor does this affect anyone other than me, but I'm just so excited, I had to rave.

For the last (almost) two years, I've been collecting McFarlane's 6 Faces of Madness series. They're figures which include Vlad the Impaler, Billy the Kid, Rasputin, Jack the Ripper, Attila the Hun and Elizabeth Bathory.

I started collecting them when they first came out and was easily able to get Billy the Kid, Rasputin, Vlad the Impaler and Attila the Hun with no problem. I was soon presented with the problem of the rarity of Jack the Ripper and Elizabeth Bathory, both of whom, in stores, were only being sold with the entire set, and since I already had 4 of the 6, there was no need for me to buy the entire set.

Last Christmas, my brother took a trip to New York and found Jack the Ripper in some little hole in the wall toy store and was nice enough to buy him for me, though he was kind of expensive. I was so absolutely excited! Now, all I needed was Bathory. Though, she seemed to present a bigger problem to find. I searched stores everywhere, searched the internet, but every store was sold out and though she WAS being sold on Ebay, it was for something around 80$ American, a price which I had no desire to pay.

For the last six months, I gave up hope and began to live with the fact that I would have to live without her...until today!

My best friend called me at Midnight last night and told me that she randomly stopped into this tiny little movie store near my house (a store which neither of us knew even sold toys) and she spotted one, yes, only ONE, mint condition Bathory, still in the box for only 40$ Canadian. I LOST MY MIND!

Needless to say, I ran over there just now and bought her, thanking the guy endlessly for having her and telling him he had saved my collection, recollecting all I've been through to find her, with no luck. He laughed at me and said I was welcome and told me if there was ever any other figure that I couldn't find, to call him and he would see if he could order it for me!! AWESOME!

Now I know this may sound a little obsessive and a little insane to all who are not me, but I'm just ever so excited! She looks so pretty up on my shelf with the rest of the series. YAY!!!

Yeah, his Twisted Fairy Tales series is amazing! I haven't started collecting them yet though because I was so adament about finishing my Six Faces of Madness series first. His Twisted Land of Oz rocks too. I want those so bad!

Oh, damn, I meant to post a picture of the Six Faces series in my last post. I'll do it now, for all those who don't know what I'm talking about

Yay! I'm always happy when others are! - I've never heard of these; I'm sure Jack the ripper would have made sure he'd clean himself up though......:D

Countess Elizabeth Bathory (or rather Erzsebet Bathory) was Hungarian Royalty in the 16th Century. She was infamous for torturing her workers, mainly the females. She enjoyed such methods as shoving wood slivers under their nails, forcing them to get naked and lay in the middle of her courtyard, while all the males in her service watched on as she whipped the girls ceaselessly, tying them up outside, naked and pouring sugary liquid all over their bodies so that insects and animals would eat them alive, etc. etc.

One day, while having a servant girl brush her hair, she pulled too hard and Erzsebet responded by slapping the girl across the face. The force of the blow caused the girl's nose to explode, blood landing everywhere, including on Erzsebet's hand. When she washed the blood of, she believed the spots where the blood landed looked smoother and more youthful. Ailed contanstanly by her fading beauty, Erzsebet believed she had found her solution and the prescription to eternal youth.

Soon, along with her young "boy toy" and a handmaiden of hers (who was practicing magick at the time), she began to kill the young, pure women in her service; stringing them up in her dungeon, draining their blood and bathing in it. She soon ran out of maids and such and so began to scour the country side, picking up stray young women and slaves, promising them food and shelter, only to perform the rituals she had on the others. (She also soon took to drinking their blood as well).

She was eventually caught and walled up in her own dungeon with only one brick not placed, through which she was fed, and lived like this for four years. Upon her death, the castle was searched and they found the bodies and skeletons of hundreds of women, along with a list, written in blood of the names of all the women she had killed. In total there were around 610 women on the list.

She was Dubbed The Blood Countess by the way.

I LOVE Erzsebet Bathory..I know it's kind of creepy, but I've been obsessed with her since the first time I read about her when I was 13. I even roleplay her in a Vampire RPG :D

Thank you :D

And no, I'm not referring to V:TM, Erzsebet was actually a real person, a real Countess in the 16th century.

Oooh, ok, sorry. But no, it's not V:tM I play, just a random RP my friend started on Proboards. I just love her and so I've used her as a character in all the Vampire RPs I've been in. Though, if I had to classify her, I think I'd put her in either the Lasombra, Giovanni or Tremere clan. She would fit well in any of those.

Mrscarrdero wanted to buy the Litle Red Riding Hood figure but the store where we went to wouldn't break up the set of six that they were selling. They are neat.

I checked out the picture with your collection, C1...I don't remember Vlad the Impaler ever being so full of muscles :biglaugh: . He was actually quite thin...and remember, boys and girls, he only impaled the nasty hungarians that were invading his teritory.
