Japan, Hawaii, and N. Cal.

I made my prayers to the gods of Japan and I am keeping everyone affected in my thoughts.
I am a little worried that one of the Super Volcanoes is going to erupt soon. The one under Yellowstone is long overdue. The fact that one erupting would probably set off the other ones makes it even the thought even more terrifying.

i wasn't here last year; could someone direct me to that thread? :)

Though i dont know the thread it was probably about the idiots who proclaimed that such natural disasters are the result of not dressing modestly and of course a disbelief in allah.

Its a sad event for Japan. :(

Indiana used to rarely get earthquakes, and now many of our children, and adults, are needing to be told what that unexpected shaking was they felt. We had one fairly recently, and felt one that was centered in Ohio I think a couple years ago.
But yes it is scary to think of all the natural disasters we are long overdue for, including another Ice Age.
Good news though:
Hawaii, West Coast avoid disaster as tsunami diffuses
It seems Hawaii and California got very minimal damages and deaths.

Sadly given all the natural disasters as of late, it has become very difficult to curb people's fear of 2012 being the end date.:(

Sure, the actual number of earthquakes might not be increasing or decreasing. But the chances of devastation are.
Found this on the website you linked to, thanks: FAQs - Earthquake Myths

Whether increasing or decreasing in actual number according to Luke [21v11] Jesus forewarned that there would be 'great' earthquakes in diverse places.

Jesus was not teaching earthquakes as 'acts of God' or that God was responsible, but Jesus was forewarning us so that we are forearmed that such great 'woe' on earth would be occurring in one place after another.
-Rev 12vs9,12
Great earthquakes occurring before Jesus would usher in peace on earth toward men of goodwill.

Since God is not responsible, Jesus wants us to draw close to God, so that we will spiritually fortified in these last days of badness on earth.

-2nd Tim 3 vs1-5,13; Rev 11v18 B; Matt 24v14.

we know why there are earthquakes...and i'll tell you what, these reasons have nothing to do with man's relationship with god.

Imagine the crunch the inhabitants of the time will be in for when all the lands are one again? If humans are still around, hopefully we'll be getting along by then.

Whether men know the why or not, Luke [21v11] still stands that there will be 'great' earthquakes in diverse places combined with all the rest of the events or features of Jesus composite 'sign' of Matthew 24.

Tied in with all of the 'woe' on earth is also Matthew [24v14] that the good news of God's kingdom will be proclaimed on a grand global scale before the end of all badness on earth comes. That is being done earth-wide today.
Rapid Bible translation into many languages has even sped up that process.

Basically what also remains is that 'they' [world powers] will be saying, 'Peace and Safety' or 'Peace and Security' before Jesus will usher in Peace on Earth toward men of goodwill. -1st Thess 5vs2,3.

A nation humbled down to ruins, this shows how vulnerable we are, and how temporary our life on earth is... technology, wealth and human power cannot stand up against nature's force without God's protection....I am praying that this nation will get down to its knees and lead them to know Christ as their saviour...while there is still time...

Please. Apparently god doesn't interfere with events and here you say god does. **** happens. And with this tragedy, Japan will figure out how to build a better defense against it.

Please pray or keep in your thoughts the people of Japan, Hawaii, and Northern California. There was and will be so much devastation. :shout I pray for any RF members who live in those areas. :sad4:
Thank you, Christine, for giving this thread. One might also take note of and admire the lesson that the Japanese people are offering in calmness, orderliness, charity, togetherness, love and resilience among other traits. (absolutely no looting, no price gouging)

Except it did stand up to it, and Japan hasn't been "humbled down to ruins". Things are very bad in certain areas, but the country still functions: the stock exchange has re-opened, the trains are running again, children are still going to school... Fukushima I has been damaged, but Fukushima II just down the road survived the earthquake intact and has only been shut down as a precaution.

I am praying that this nation will get down to its knees and lead them to know Christ as their saviour...while there is still time...
Why?

If the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, World War I, the 1883 eruption of Krakatoa, or the Black Death weren't omens of Christ's second coming, why would you think that this is?
