NEW YORK (July 4) - For the fifth straight year, it was a victory Takeru Kobayashi could truly relish.
Kobayashi, 27, captured the Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest Monday, gobbling a nauseating 49 dogs in 12 minutes - but missing his own world record of 53 1/2, set at last year's July Fourth competition.

Maybe I am a killjoy - somehow I can never watch these 'eating contests' - they make me feel sick............:jam:

(Thinking about it, My Mum went through the bad food shartages during the war, whilst my Mother in law saw them in the Spanish civil war. Both Marie and I had been brought up to appreciate food.:eek:

49! Good golly Miss Molly! I could probably squeeze in ten without the bun, but 49? That's just ludicrous! I'm feeling bloated already. I know the intestines are long, but 'cmon!:eek:
