i remember Black Sabbath. a bit harsh music for me. what was his religion before he converted Christianity? was he an atheist?

i remember Black Sabbath. a bit harsh music for me. what was his religion before he converted Christianity? was he an atheist?

I heard his testimony years ago and all I remember is that someone prayed over him at his house or hotel room while he was currently singing for Black Sabbath and he "got saved" and he decided to quit the band and "give his heart to the Lord".

He may have been a Christian while he was a singer for Black Sabbath, but was not practicing his religion until he fully converted and decided to leave the band. He began singing for a group called "Joshua" a Christian rock band and now he sings "praise and worship" songs and hymns.
